Hi All,

I am working on a website for a client who lives in another state. Once the site is published, she would like to be able to access it and make simple changes to the content. What is the best way to do this?

I will have the main files on my computer, so I thought about sending her the compressed files via email for her to upload to her computer. I am also assuming that everyone who plans to update her site will need to purchase a copy of the VSD software and upload to their computer - correct? She plans to use GoDaddy to host her site.

Has anyone done this with clients? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

WR - I'll forego the discussion warning about letting the client make updates, just hope you are sure of her computer literacy ;)

Good news though, since you are using VSD, it gives you the ability to store a "backup" of your .vnu file on your server. You could just point her to that location and as long as you are certain that you both are not updating the file at the same time use it. Update the file, and re-upload when you/she publish.

Yes Phil I am doing something simular for our Art Society and I eventually will hand over to the news letter committee member, president and a couple others. This will help CC as more copies required. I will stipulate that they download the latest vnu and work on that. The backup system allows to back track.
