I have been asked to put together a website for a company but there is one issue, and I am hoping it can be addressed within VSD or if not, someone has a non complex solution if they have encountered anything like it before. That said...........

Not sure if I described the subject right but the question is.

Has anyone built a website with VSD where there is at least one page that can be interactively edited on a regular basis by an individual without having to actually access or use VSD in the process. This website needs to have a page that is continually updated but I do not want to be the one that does it. I do not want to continually be editing a page within VSD and uploading it constantly.
It will be much more effective if the owner of the site can just go in and change the information on a page as it is needed. The site will be for a title company so there will be at least one page that involves, foreclosures, title transfers, and other title type stuff that needs to have information changed often, and I really don't want to get involved with the company business, just build the site and walk except for technical changes or issues.
The person doing the editing will not be real computer savvy so will need to be able to open a page, edit it and save it, and it magically appears. Otherwise I am going to have an unpaid job for life.

Anybody with any ideas greatly appreciated............

Prism has a small CMS that he built just for this purpose.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Bob, you are aware, I hope, that the editable page, if made with VSD, will be overwritten and set back to what it was if the company wants a change of font, typography, images, layout etc. I wonder if it would be better to create that particular page with a code editor.

Or why not have the client purchase VSD and you can give them all the files for the site so they can do it right in the program. Might be easier to teach them how to do that than to teach them how to edit the right code etc. You'll definitely have to do as Inger said, can't do that editing outside of VSD and still use VSD for edits later so might be better to get them a copy of it and let them use the program to do it.

Prism's CMS doesn't interfere with what VSD generates.;)

There is one Caveat the page becomes a php one. Tell you what I will do, Contact me by the form, link in this post and I will convert it for you. All you will need to change is a ftp program I use Free FTP. and the Jarte Word Processor for the formatted, text both free.
For the one page I will set it up for you. I will supply the scripts to run it. Formatting is totally flexible you will find. The original page does not get changed. But also the converted page can no longer be edited in VSD it is a one way deal. But having said that the free editor can be used to modify this page as the system uses Css to control each element, this can be edited to suit. You will need to send the html page created by VSD with a temporary image where the replacement text is to go. This will give the position for the text. I will send the converted page back.

Wow easier to do than explain. Contact me on this page http://cms.inkmon.org/concept.html There is a PDF on the site that explains. I will explain more fully after contact. This conversion will not cost you anything. I do this as a hobby mainly. I will change the text on the demo page for you. straight after I post this.

There are other systems available if you Google for them, I did it my way for flexibility that other systems do not give. My site will explain.

Edited Hmm! Done, I added the note, It is rather fun changing it.

One just has to add the CMS area with the HTML tool to avoid VSD's file management.

The good thing about Prism's CMS is that everything remains with the actual website, one doesn't need to subscribe to an outside service.

Hi Bob,

I think the easiest way is: use Coffeecup software > Powerpost!!! It's an offline blogging application, it is only $5 and you get a free S-Drive account with it. Integrate this S-Drive inside VSD with an Iframe using the HTML tool and you're ready.... Then teach your client how to use it. It's that simple, really.

Success, John
