And you probably have tried uninstalling it, reboot, a fresh download, run as administrator and all that?

The crash happens for one of two reasons (that I am aware of), either, you have a bad download, or the program is not compatible with your computer (you are running a 64-bit system, which is technically unsupported).

4:04 PM MDT: I did it Lamin! I did it! I was dinking around in the performance area of Win 7 and saw a section called DEP - Data Execution Protection. It's turned on, and I only had one exception in there, for an old program that was running from XP. So just for the heck of it, I added VSD to the exceptions list and it worked! Yeah!

Someone might go into the other threads where this has happened and suggest the same solution?

I want to give kudos to Lamin though, he worked patiently with me and never quit.

Great, Melissa! Well, I wouldn't have known, since I'm still on Vista...

You should actually send a mail to CC support and inform them :P

Excellent Melissa! I'm pleased you have it all sorted ...I missed the bit about it being 64 bit.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.

I was working with Lamin in my support room, and posted the outcome there too. I admire his persistence.

This thread is very useful for Windows 7 64-bit users, because the other suggestions like Compatibility Mode settings and uninstalling do not help in this case.

The DEP setting got me running up again as well. Thanks BTW! :o

So please can this thread be stickied?
