I am trying everything possible to see what works. This last time I tried to upload I closed EVERYTHING running on my computer except VSD, turned off the firewall, shut down Norton AV, etc.

STILL NO UPLOAD!

COME ON CC TEAM! GIVE US A FIX! WHY DID YOU RELEASE THE LATEST VERSION OF VSD WITH SUCH A HUGE BUG IN IT?

My uploads are failing on .html files, not pictures! Every time I try to upload, it fails on a DIFFERENT file! The bug has to be in the upload routine...nothing to do with your actual website files!

Sailr,
A different kind of question.
Have you contacted CC through customer support, and if so could you provide some details about the service?
I'm getting the feeling that they're deliberately keeping us in the dark until they figure this thing out.

No. From some other posts it seems they are not even answering the support requests. I suspect you are correct. They are gonna keep quiet until they have a CLUE about what is going on.

Funny you should say that, I've been on hold for about ten minutes now and they picked-up just as I opened this thread.
Apparently there are still eight people ahead of me waiting for tech assistance.
The girl I spoke with said there is a tech on duty until 5pm central time.
If he can't get to me today he'll call first thing in the morning.
Wanna' bet?
I did suggest that they have a look at the forums, that there is a growing list of angry customers (no response).

Hi guys, I'm just a user as you are ans I'm really baffled as to why your VSd won't upload, when I'm running XP, 3gig ram, a c,d,g,h hard drives,
servers, Yahoo, Lunarpages, Ix webhosting, Hostway and I am not having this problem. I had a connection problem with version 5.9.1 I had to use the "logmein" that coffeecup has asked Boyd to do and Scott fixed that for me. Then of course 5.9.4 came out and everything works like a charm after I completely removed my site, everythng off server
my so called site are of no benefit for me as yours are to you, but I did have to remove everything which took care of my problem I suppose.
but you have done so too and it still won't upload and your images are messed up I'm sorry for that. I ran out of suggestions to try and I'm sure Coffeecup will come through just need more patients. Of course this is my opinion.

Bruce, a sincere thanks for your efforts.
I just want to say that if CC is putting out a supposedly user friendly program like VSD for lite users and beginner site designers, we as customers should not have to spend all this time trying to nail down the problem.
The software should be relatively turnkey.
I liken it to selling a new car to a brand new driver and then asking them to service the transmission.
I'm reasonably computer literate, I work with a variety of design software and CNC robotic machinery as the head graphic designer on a TV series, heck we even get to build spaceships!
I purchased VSD as a matter of convenience, I simply don't have the time to learn HTML or build a site that way, let alone spend hours diagnosing why it's so screwed up.
I found building and maintaining my personal site was kinda' theraputic, a nice way to slow down once a week.
Somewhat ironic that it's become such a stress generator of late.

I agree 100% of what your saying Boyd it's mind boggling as to the cause,
and using an external FTP didn't either? Like filezilla not direct ftp.
BOYD, 1 QUESTION-DID YOU USE A TEMPLATE AND IF SO WHICH ONE PLEASE.
THANKS......sorry for caps

Tried external FTP, still same problem.

The only thing I can suggest at this pint is using an external ftp at this time, Either direct ftp or filezilla. If your not sure what to upload I can only offer this
http://www.kellyinfo.com/BasicTut.html
click on filezilla upload it will show the files to upload.
If you read this thread http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/our-design-software/vsd-594-wont-overwrite-older-files-yet-a-welcome-change/&p=2 it's discussed about clearing out the website folder, now I did this with only 5 pages, but again my site isn't important enough to worry about so back up everything as a precaution if you decide to do this. It does work for me anyway. the link next will show this http://kellyinfo.com/MyFiles/tutorials/clearingwebsitefolder.html
hope this helps
