Good morning everyone.
I was trying to re-upload some pics on one of the websites that are not viewable live (they have been giving us trouble for some strange reason) and every time I try to republish the site I get the following message "the program cannot access the catalog on server try again". This happened a couple of months ago and after repeatedly trying, I finally gave up. I do need to correct this once and for all though. Can anyone please help?

Hi Holly,

Could you tell us some more specifics about what you are doing, and in the mean time, see if some of the suggestions here might help you:

Hi Dave,
I'm just going to the publish feature on the top left side. I also tried publishing it from the top section and either way, I continue to get the same message. I'll check out the link you posted now. thank you.

I just received a different message that states "Error uploading. the program could not create a catalog."

Hi Holly,

It's down to permissions, VSD needs to be able to modify your server and add files / create directories etc. You also need permission as the PC user so make sure you are set up as an administrator.

Also, check that you don't have any pages with names containing odd characters / or? or $ etc.

Thank you Dave and thank you Jo Ann (congrats on being a grandma. i love the pic!!!)

For whatever reason, after I kept repeatedly trying to publish it it finally went through!
I'm the only one working on these sites so the permission option should not be a problem.

The problem now though is that one of the other websites (which is presently live) is no longer showing in the FTP settings!? If I add the FTP info once again, would it foul up the current website when it is republished? I realize that these are different types of problems but I'm posting it here as I think it might all related somehow.

That's strange that the ftp setting are gone but there should be no reason for it to mess your site up. If you want to test change your publishing director to something different then publish to that.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
