Please offer some advice. VSD vs HTML...
Hi to all,
I already own registered versions of Coffee Cup VSD and HTML editor. I have 3 businesses/websites that I maintain. I use VSD to create the websites and HTML editor to create code that I can enter into VSD with the insert html feature. By using VSD I am able to concentrate more on my business and less on creating and maintaining my sites--which is what I like.
I am in the early stages of starting a fourth business/website and I was wondering if I should create this site--which will only be approx. 5 or 6 pages--with the HTML editor. Generally speaking, will my sites rank higher in search engines using HTML vs VSD--even though I am currently happy with my SEO efforts and rankings using VSD (always trying to improve though).
Are there any other advantages or disadvantages that I should be aware of?
Thank you in advance for any advice that you can share related to this subject.
Kind regards,
yeto

My 2 cents. I use VSD to create a site and like you I use the editor to add stuff especially if it is a php enabled page. If you need to go responsive then it is the editor all the way.
I am definatly not a purist, it is mainly a hobby with me. If I was doing this professionally I would use VSD to design a site for appearance then code it in the editor.
The coding used by VSD is so neat and organised compared with coding that is manually created. Everything that a search engine is after can be placed into VSD and the actual display can be identical.
Unless you use a ready made theme in the editor I would say to create a site with VSD is much faster without having to swing between coding and previewing.
As a thought finish the new site in a way you are used to, then at your leisure create the site with the editor in a folder removed from the live one. If it turns out better just transfer across.

There is a big advantage with HTML...
It allows you to make a "cleaner" page. Which drops your page size which is one of the things that search engines are looking at. I do not like WYSIWYG programs... VSD is a nice program, but it is what you do not see that is the problem.
But I am a coder so I will always rather code then let something do it for me...
I would say chose what you think is best for you.

So what were arguing about is not which one is the best but which one is the best for you.
If you already have the HTML editor you might want to at least take a stab at coding. If you think it's taking to long you could probably whip a site up in VSD to get you up and running then continue development of your site in a test directory with the html editor.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

I will take everyone's advice and initially build the website with VSD and then start a secondary/backup website with HTML editor.
