You are amazing... and are taking a lot of time on my behalf. I DO appreciate it. Very much. So would I put a link on my page that calls this utility? I'm not sure what you had in mind to implement it.

Also, since this code doesnt actually read the text file, I would need to change it and upload it each time a patch is updated, right?

Again, thank you so much for the time you are putting in.
All my best,

David,
Those download pages are for my existing site, which I am replacing with a site I am building with CC software. My new site will have nothing to do with Cold Fusion, and will be written entirely with CC magic stuff. So what you are looking at is gonna go away.

What I am after is how to replicate that functionality using only CC tools. I dont know HTML yet, nor asp, php, js or any of the other fun stuff that smart people know.

So I'm looking for a way to use VSD that will give me a page that looks and works like that download page which was using cf stuff.

Is that a bit more clear?

and thanks again.. you've been wonderfully patient with me.
All my best,

Scott,

Glad to help. Let me know if you need any help with that code when you get closer to replacing the existing site.

re: "other fun stuff"

I don't use VSD or HTML editor. I do everything by hand and have for years. However, I've encountered many quality websites in this forum built with those very tools. If you have no experience, try VSD first. There's a bit of a learning curve where saving / uploading is concerned but you can handle it fine, I'm certain.

Good luck.

I'm getting pretty close to replacing it now... you can view it at
csaltc.com/test. I still have to clean up some of the images... they are a bit slow to load, and I got my bug report form working today.

Thanks again.. you've been terrific.

Scott,

Do you program that software?

Yes sir. I have been writing and supporting that software for a number of insurance companies for a lot of years. It's pretty much all VB, with a 3rd party tool thrown in for preview/printing functions.

All my best,
Scott Tucker
