Object Properties - not showing right...
Hi Gang:
I have this feeling I'm gonna look more stupididerer than usual but here goes.
It appears I have selected the correct object but the Object Properties is not showing its colour.
Perhaps this is a container issue that I'm not clever enough to get past?
Using the Handmade theme.
Default, create new site.
click on a "menu" item like About.
Object Properties shows Georgia 15 px Pink (coral, let's not bicker about this for a minute)
Okay.
Now, below that is a block of text in grey that ends with a large pink underlined text that says "Learn More".
Click the text and see the outline box appear.
Click in the text.
Now, click in the "Learn More" Text.
Delete or backspace. a letter is removed.
Therefore I MUST have selected the text.
YET
The Object Properties shows Gerogia 18 Px Grey.
Huh? Grey?
Now you can continue to have fun.
Select "Learn More"
Pick a colour.
Click away.
Click back on it
It still shows as Pink but the Object Properties shows the colour you selected.
What am I missing in this case?
I've attached a stripped down VNU so you can "see" what I _think_ I'm seeing.

I realize this is hard to read but easier to see.
Attached is a JPG to try and show you what I'm describing.

Highlight the text you want to change and then select the color.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Hi EricB,
The text you are referring to is a link and while you can edit the text and the url that this link points to, you can't change the color as the theme employs a common link color for all links in the site to keep the theme right.
When you first open the theme, and before you do anything else, go to Settings->Standard Settings for new pages. Here you can choose the colors for links of various states.

Hi Eric
I tried that. The colour changes in the Object Properties but not on the form.
But it seems Dave has it.
Thanks.

Hi Dave:
You hit it on the head.
I thought it was a link. But when I opened the Object Properties it did identify it as a link. When I opened the Link Properties it asks if you want to make it a link so I thought it was just underlined text to demonstrate the theme.
Based on other design elements from my programming background I expected the Object Properties to identify the type of object. I see now it does not in VSD.
Also you said the first thing you had to do is change the link colour but I just tried it on my demo files and it changed the colour of the link on all the pages.
Is this okay or am I breaking something for later?
My mystery solved.
Case closed.
Little VSD sure backs a lot into a small program!
