Hiya Kenny,

It would help if you could tell us which pages and which images are not showing up as we have no idea what images are actually supposed to be there. We can guess, but..... :)

Hi Jo Ann.
Thanks for your reply, pages named Engine oil level and Twinhorns should each have 2 images, however both are showing each, with just one large placeholder, hope this helps.

I see 3 images referenced on that page only, and only 1 of them referenced is one of the ones you're having issues with because it's not there. My guess is either you or VSD didn't upload the files correctly.

When I try to go to files/oilcheck1.jpg this file is not there on the server so that's why it doesn't show up.

The only other 2 image files that are referenced on that page are:

files/oiltitle.jpg and files/linkback.jpg
Those 2 files above both show up so I'm guessing you didn't reference the 2nd missing file or didn't get it entered in VSD correctly or it doing something write when uploading it.

I'm not a VSD user so i'm not sure how to tell you to delete the files on the server and reupload them as I don't know how this works in VSD or doesn't work.... hopefully someone else will chime in here and give you some advice on how to do this if you are not already familiar with it. I know there's some kind of resync setting as well, but I don't know what that is supposed to fix.

All I can tell you is the oilcheck1.jpg image is not on the server although it is referenced in the code. No other image other than the 2 above that are page elements it looks like are in the code at all.

Hope that helps.

Hey Kenny,

First thing to do is bring up your site in VSD. Go to Publish/Re-Sync Website and see if that helps. Sometimes things go amis when uploading simply due to a bad connection or to much noise on the internet connection. If the picture shows up when you preview, then VSD should upload it.

One thing to remember, don't rename and/or move a picture on your computer after you add it to a VSD site or VSD won't know where to find it to upload. The common thing to do is to create a folder on your computer when you start a website and put all the pictures you're going to use in that folder. Then create your website using those pictures. That way VSD always knows where to find them.

If you think you may have moved it, or renamed it since putting it in VSD, then simply delete the picture from VSD and add it in again. Then re-publish your site. Should work.

In VSD there's a remove files option. Use that to delete those file names before trying to upload again.

Do you have all your site files together in one folder? I usually create a "my-site" folder for the .vnu and VSD Files. Within that I make another folder "images" for all photos that will be on the site.
Before you re-insert the images, check the file sizes. If you have large images (2000px wide/high for example), scale them down in an image editor before inserting them – don't let VSD try to handle re-sizing them.

Can't think of anything else to try. :(

(You might want to darken the text, the grey over the grey mottled background could be difficult for some to read on a phone. Consider bumping up the size a bit as well. ;))

Thanks for your reply Jo Ann, Ive double checked the files in the FTP Programme and all the remote files are same as whats been uploaded from in the local folder, so most unusual why some are missing :(

Gunsmoke.
Im having to upload my files manually, directly within FTP as my 'mobileviewer folder' is contained within my main site.

paintbrush.
Thanks for advice on text colour, will look into this, in regards to image size they are a small 250 x 150 on average.

Hey Kenny,

If you view https://www.coffeecup.com/sdrive/dashbo … ewer/files you have a file called oilchecking1.jpg but on your VSD website the file is actually named oilcheck1.jpg you need to update the file name on the page itself and reupload that file for it to show up. I am guess this is going to be the same on the other pages where you are missing a file as well. :)

I think Adam's got the idea. Double check your filenames.

As far as uploading with an FTP client, you can publish with VSD. Or should be able to. All you need to do is access the FTP details in VSD and put 'mobileviewer' ( without the quotes ) in the 'Remote Folder' box of the settings. If all your other settings are correct then the site should upload to the correct location just fine.

Gunsmoke
That sounds like a better idea, when I can fathom out how to directly upload to the 'mobileviewer' folder from the publishing options in VSD.

Adam.
Im working on a complete change of image names, for a fresh start, test site still not looking correct.
