Mouseovers slow to respond - Post ID...
Hi, I recently made this d4petservices.co.uk but the large pastel mouseovers are very slow to respond, sometimes needing 2 or 3 passes of the mouse. Why is this?
I think you are suffering a VSD issue where if you look carefully the button has to be clicked in the correct position.
I think you will probably find it is top center, click anywhere else it wont work
Mouse over button and move around till a hand appears, thats where the clickable link actually is.
Nice to have big buttons as they look nice and impressive, but i got around this myself by having the big area as you have it, with a small clickable button on top, saying CLICK HERE not as pretty but viewers get the message.
Also using the buttoniser you could make a mousover effect so when your hovering over the correct spot the whole button changes appearance (and text if wanted) if you look at my delorean site homepages they do precisely this

Nice job Viv, Janet Has text boxes laying over the top of her buttons. The only problem is that the buttonizer doesn't allow for multiple link text. Two images might be a better choice if she needs the text stacked.
You could take a screen shot of your buttons that you already have then grab them and use them in your design.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

How about doing a preview of the home page, and save as .
Then putting that in as the background which would have all the logo heading and buttons (inactive) in place.
Then the text for the buttons could have the links so clicking on the text would be immediate, and possibly more sensible ?

That's another option.

You could also make the shape and make it a link, then type the text – make it a link, then position the text over the shape and group them. (Include the little side pieces as well) Now it doesn't matter where you click.
All items have to be links before being grouped, it won't work if they're in a group first.

Thanks all, I don't necessarily want it to only mouseover when clicked though, it should change colour when the mouse runs over it whether clicked or not?
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
