Hi,
I had asked about mouseovers before in another topic, but I think there's something I'm missing.
If you follow the link to my website, you'll see at the top the different links that take you to different pages. i want to put mouseovers on those, as well as on the side menus. The program won't let me. One of my links, the "Contact us" one has a mouseover on every page, but whenever I attempt to put one on the object next to it, it won't let me save, saying that the mouseover object intersects. It doesn't ! As far as I can tell....
I have attached a picture two mouseovers that I am attempting to create. They are two inches apart and the computer still doesn't like it! I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong,,,,at first I thought it was because I had an object behind, a picture, but that isn't possible because I created that "Contact Us" mouseover and it likes that one.
Any feedback?

And the link to your site is this one, I guess: http://www.greatwesternrail.com/index.html

I don't see any attached images, though. It happens to all of us in between, that we sometimes forget to attach something. ;)

Or maybe you didn't forget, only the images were too large (in bytes). Attachment limit is 100kB, I think.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Two objects close together, having used buttoniser or mousover will produce that error message

I think the same occurs if you use shadows, and other options with the effect tool

just change the spacing a little, it will cure that

The shadow affect added to the buttons extends beyond the outside of the buttons by about 10px at least so give them even more space until the error goes away.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

I did forget to attach my picture.
I figured that that maybe the shadowing affects my spacing between my buttons, this confirms it. But...take a look at the attached picture. The two greyed out buttons on the top of the page are the ones I'm trying to put mouseovers on, they are quite far apart. Will the mouseover be affected by objects in the vicinity, or only mouseovers over objects in the vicinity?

Look at what the shadow affect does to the outer boundaries.

I use FireFox with the FireBug plugin to get that info during the preview.:)

Hi Diana,

I'd say Eric made the blue border himself to show you where you need to look to see how the shadow falling impacts on the true separation of the buttons.

In VSD, move your contact button to the edge of the cloudy background and then evenly space and spread the buttons until they look good but have more space between them.

Now, try making mouseovers and remember that as well as selecting the mouseover function, you also need to specify the image for the mouseover in each case.

As long as each button, including its shadow, has no overlap with any other object, the mouseover will function and you will be able to save the project without any errors :)

In FX you can also right click and select inspect element and a small dashed border will show you the extreme outer boundaries.;)
