Mouseover object intersects with...

I made 1 change (on a page that was built several months ago) to the alternate text on an object. When I went to save it, I get that error ("Mouseover object intersects with another object on the page...") for the object above the one I changed. It seems to me that the objects have plenty of space between them. That was the only change I made to the page. Since getting that message, I've tried moving both objects some but it still gives the error. I don't want to move them much more than I have already because I will have to adjust all the objects on the page to make everything symmetrical.
Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Try raising and lowering the cross bars around your navigation to give them a little more room. Redoing the other pages will be a snap. Delete the elements off the other pages then select all the elements you want to copy then do Ctrl+c now go to each page and hit paste ctrl + v. They will be in the exact location as the page copied from.

Hi Tim,

If you make the change you describe and nothing else, this should not happen.

Were you altering the alt text for the normal object or the mouseover object?
It should not matter which but I ask just to try and replicate what you did and see can I experience the same symptom.

I take it that the http://www.communitychurchks.com/home/5-Contact.html is the original site as the intersect argument in VSD in relation to mouseover elements usually means you can't save or publish the project until you resolve the argument.

Have you tried reverting to the original unaltered file and making the change exclusively to the alt text of the object and immediately saving your change to see if this works? i.e. to rule out any other unnoticed edit you may or may not have introduced.

Dave :)

If its one of the buttons , and you have used the buttoniser, increasing the length or hight of the alternative text, may be forcing the mousover image to be bigger, you might not see it unless you click on it in editing mode.

Eric is correct, try re doing all of them on one page only (i would clone home page as a template to work with) once its correct, you can copy and paste to all the other pages with links etc intact

The offending object is the link "CommunityMail@sbcglobal.net".
I only changed the alternate text on the object below it "CCKansas" to say "Click for facebook page" instead of "Click to E-mail".
There is plenty of space between these.

I moved it up about six "clicks" and it seems to work now. It's not spaced right but that's the only thing that seems to make it work.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I had the same problem, very irritating by the way, I solved it by changing the mouseover properties from "original object" to "mouseover object"

hi,
Eric Rohloff i am posting a question for the first time so bear with me, i am trying to zoom an image into my website that i self-learned using VSD. Very happy with all that is offered with this program, but stuck on how to zoom my images. i have tried your ddimgtooltip.js but just have not been able to figure it out. now i'm trying the mouseover button on the VSD program and it just seems to let me use their objects not an image. PLEASE HELP! i am not a professional just a first time web designer of my website that i started up about 1yr ago. It's all trial an error for me all the way.
Thanks

You should be able to add an image to your VSD page.
Now click "Mouseover" at the top of the design screen.
Next in the properties box that opens to the right select "Mouseover object"
Now grab one of the little box handles that are on your image and re-size the image to the desired mouseoversize.:)
