I have gremlins in my website! I have not touched this website in quite a while, so why the problems now is.... interesting.

the menu is showing a image instead of the button. I looked at the code, but to my layman's eye it looks ok.

Looks ok to me (not the code, but the site itself). The menu "is" made up of button images, not sure what it is supposed to look like, but to me it's images with names on them that are links to your menu items so it looks like it should to me. Is it not supposed to look flat brown with words on it? In other words what I see is a solid color background look with white words and the only way you would know it's an image button is to view the image itself.
