Links in Preview Mode - Post ID 182901

I haven't published my site yet.

I have several text links which I created by highlighting each line of text, clicking on the Link button, and entering my information for that text.

Some text links are stand-alone links, and others are in the middle of sentences.

In preview mode when I click on my stand-alone text links (which are external links, so they do work), I get a dotted outline around my text link as well as a wavy line extending from the clicked link down to the next line, in front of the next link on the list.

I thought this was because I had several text links in one text box, so I tried making separate text boxes for each link. In this case, I still get the dotted box around the link, and the wavy line appears to the immediate left of the link I just clicked.

For the text links that are in sentences, I just get the dotted box around the link, and no wavy line.

Is all of this perfectly normal for preview mode? I'm hoping my actual site won't look like this.

Or is there something I'm not doing correctly with my text links?

I'm about ready to publish my site, but I'm worried about these funny-looking lines in my text links. Could someone please confirm whether or not they will show in the final site? If they will, I need to make changes ASAP.

Melodie,

I do not know how to change it in VSD but it sounds as if you have a border on your links... I would say look at the links and check to see if you can figure out how to turn the borders off. I am sorry that no one answered your post. I normally leave VSD users alone because I do not use it. But I am sure someone will give you some more detail soon.

Melodie,

Instead of waiting half a week for someone to answer in here, I would highly suggest 1 of 2 things. First I would suggest upload it to a test spot and see if it shows. That is your fastest and easiest way to know what it's going to do. The 2nd thing is that if someone doesn't answer your question within a day or 2 there's usually a couple reasons. Either no one knows the answer, or your post didn't show in the New Posts que and got missed. I for one never saw your post, and I'm pretty sure SirAGE didn't either till today.

When you don't get an answer in a day or 2, put in a Support Topic to CC to get an answer. That's always a better way to make sure you get an answer if you don't get one on the forums in a reasonable amount of time. The forums are user to user help so not always will we find an answer, but most of the time we do :)

Sorry your post was missed, but hopefully that will help you in the future.

Thanks, Jo Ann and SirAGE. I don't have borders around my links. I believe I'll just post it as Jo Ann suggested, and see what happens from there.

Melodie, have a read through this...

If this is what you're seeing, it's nothing to worry about. You can get rid of the outlines if they really bother you (Google for how-to examples; links, remove focus...).
