As to VSD, it's (usually) pretty easy to add scripts and code snippets to it. Seems a lot of things come in 3 sections:

1. Some code for the header (Edit > edit Header – copy/paste the code here)

2. Your files (Edit > Add Files – lets you browse to your file, click to add)

3. Code for the actual page/body (use the HTML tool to drag out a box on the page, then paste code in it)

Then there'll be some adjusting to get the positioning just right, but that's a quick overview for you :)

That was actually a very good summing up what to do in VSD! :) I numbered the steps to make it all easier to read.

Hiya Greg,

Although I don't have the files to look at, I can tell you that what that means is to open the files mentioned in a text editor (not anything like Word or Wordpad, make sure it's a raw text editor like Notepad, Notepadd++ or Textpad types). Look then for a line that shows the location of the files they are mentioning so for the first example of the blue gradient images, they want to make sure you have the right pathway to those images where they reside online for your site. Same for the arrow images.

Check where you have uploaded them and then look in those files (you can do a Find to find the names of the files which is much easier than trying to scan through the files visually to find it) and verify the paths are correct. This is basically to make sure that the site can find the images once you have it running.

Hope that makes sense and let us know :)

Hi Jo Ann, That has helped make it a bit clearer but (there is always a but!) does that mean that in preview ie local mode I wont be able to see the full effect?
If I add those files via add files when I create the html box the path inside will be for the position on the server so preview wont work correctly, am I right to think that?

There are some things that you won't see until the site is live. This might be one example.
If you don't want to "go live" until you're sure everything's working, create a new page in VSD. Call it something like test-page, and don't put any links to it. Publish the site and then you can experiment with the menu on that page. You can delete that page when it's no longer needed.

A good bit of "ambassadoring" by the way :)

Thanks for that! I've gotten an amazing amount of help on these forums – I try to share the bits I've managed to pick up along the way :D

OK I am going to give it a go, with Jo Ann, Inger and Paintbrush pushing me along what can possibly go wrong!!!

Will post after the seasons festivities with hopefully a working menu or at least a clearer idea of what I am doing.

Thanks to the three of you for the help and advice, it is very much appreciated.

Hi Greg,
I have used Coffee Cups DHTML editor to create menus at www.afrockhampton.com
I'm a novice and found the product very simple to use.

French in Rockhampton? I would have thought Vanuatu a more appropriate place. I thought it hard enough to get my Aussie wife to speak English. She don't speak proper like I does.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that as well.

I vaguely remember being told a long time ago that you couldnt use DHTML editor with VSD but you obviously can!

You can, Greg, but the menu won't display for users of the Opera Browser.
