I am trying to import a newsletter for our business as a separate page. I am trying to set it up with the 3-4 word doc pages shown vertically with the ability to scroll down to read it. I cannot seem to find out how to do this in the VSD help or through google. please help!

thank you

Do not copy and paste a MS Word document into a web page. The copy and paste will carry over formatting codes that will mess up browsers, and may make a mess out of your page.

You can upload the word doc and allow folks to download, or you can create a PDF of the doc and link to the PDF.

There may be other ways, but these are the ones I know.

I use 'save as web page' for the word document, close it, then open it again as the web page, use 'view source' edit and select all the souce code, right click and copy. Go into VSD, click the html tool in the required place, and paste your word doc code in there, sit back and wait until it appears. Preview, and your document will be there. I can't help thinking you will need a long page for this though!

Janet,

Have you examined the code produced by MS Word?

If you plan to use it as a standalone page, you will need to edit the code to remove much of the invalid stuff that is put into the code.

If you insert the un-edited code in y our page, you my create problems by having two sets of <html> opening and closing tags.

It would be better to print to PDF and insert a link in your page linking to the PDF.

Hi Bill, no I haven't examined it, I don't 'do' code anymore, which is why I bought VSD! All I know is that it works! I don't use it as a standalone page, but I can integrate it by changing font colours and backgrounds to look as though it is a standalone page, I use it a lot with exel for results sheets and diary tables, it works just as well with word too.

thank you for the advice. I will try both methods and see which one works best with my website. Thanks again!
