I can't get the z index to work -...
I can't get the z index to work on the html code that was embedded for the drop down menu created. No matter what I do, the drop down menu runs behind other elements of the site that have a lower z-index. Can you please help me with that or is there a drop down menu that can be used in visual site designer?
If the menu is appearing behind text the all the text boxes that are causing issues will need to have advanced text turned on so the z-index for their position can be set.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.

In VSD I thought all you had to do was adjust their position. Select the other elements and send them to the back. That should put them behind the menu. When I use VSD I use its marvellous banner and object making ability for a menu. I am here I want to got there. I keep it simple.

Text box's without advanced turned on are random at best.

Wow, thank you for your response, but it's falling behind the video as well in the two places that there's drop down menu. So what you're saying is that I have to turn on advanced text. How do I do that? Is that the same thing that's causing the drop down to go behind the video? The web site is www.lochhighlandrenovationspecialists.com. Again, I want to thank you so much we've been struggling with this for days and days on end and I'm going broke trying to fix it.
Judith, if you click on your text - blue outline, not red - then look at Object Properties you'll see the option for Advanced Text. You should give it a try since you're using non web standard fonts anyway. I see really huge text running all over everything since I don't have those fonts on this computer.
That is one really wide site
A lot of people not on wide-screen computers will have to scroll sideways to see everything.
For your menu, one other thing to try... remove it from the site, make sure everything is where you want it, then put it back in so it will be the last item placed on the page; above everything else.

Try adjusting the embed code on your Youtube video by adding the ?wmode=transparent to the end.

I had a similar issue; the following thread helped me (with text, don't know about the video):
