HELP: Organize Pages REALLY Messed Up...
VSD: Registered Version 7 Build 26
I have been working on a new website with about 200 pages. I have one major issue that when I organize the pages alphbetically, it returns an error (I think it says "Improper Argument) and shows one specific page 4 times. Checking the html files, I see only one file for that replicated page. However, even after editing the page in question, when I do a preview, or look at it in Explorer, it does not show the edited changes (adding a graphic, text, etc.). It shows the unedited page, even though I can see the editied page in working mode in VSD.
Can I delete this page, recreate it and "hope" the 4 instances in the Show Page drop down will be removed, or ???
BTW: Trying to reorganize the pages again causes the 4 instances to become 8, again, without actually creating any new html files.
I need an answer ASAP as I have to get this uploaded.
Thanks
Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,
For these types of problems it's best open a support topic for the CC gurus to look into.

Kenneth,
Try this.
Download this http://www.coffeecup.com/files/binaries/vsdfix.exe and run this to clean out your registry.
Then
1. Right-click the shortcut icon, and click Properties.
2. Click the Compatibility tab.
3. Here, put a check mark by Run This Program as an Administrator.
4. Next, put a check mark next to Run This Program in Compatibility Mode For: and ensure Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 is selected.
5. Click OK.
And lastly open your website and go to the File Menu and Save As and save your website into a new folder. Close and reopen VSD to allow a fresh start and open your newly saved website!
Let us know how it goes!

Follow-up / Solution:
Just in case anyone else has this issue, I did try the above fix and it didn't work. In the end Scott suggested I copy, then delete the offending page, which I did. Then and only then did I see the other 3 old copies of that particular page that were messing up the index. I deleted those then renamed and re-established the broken links and it is working properly now.
Many thanks for the great support!
Sincerely,
Kenneth
