Under page properties>gradient>blue border -- it looks like this feature places a blue border on the left side of the web page. Is this all this feature does and what is its purpose?

I think if you want something larger, then you need to do gradient background.

It's just an example of how you can use the gradients. The colors you choose don't have to blend together.
