I have experienced the same thing Tom just mentioned.
The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.

Thanks for all the advice. I have personally changed my PW (a unique, monster jumble like I always do) in my cPanel after recieving a new one from the host company yesterday. So that should be good.

Several of you have mentioned scripts, I'm assuming you mean the flash I have included on in my homepage. If a hacker got in that way, oh well, not much I can do other than change companies if it happens again. I'm assuming, since none of you has mentioned the an FTW intercept that gleaned my login and pw, none of you buy it. Feel free to recommend anther company in case it happens again.:)

You folks seem to have a hate/hate relationship with your hosting companies :P

Regarding my computer being infected or scanned or whatever, it'as always possible, but I never store passwords and rarely store usernames on my computer accept for the most banal programs and websites. I'm kinda old school that way. As I said, my PC gets scanned frequently by Norton/OneLive/Ad-Aware and I keep my programs updated. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else I can do on a normal end user level?

Oh! and thanks for the suggestion about not keeping financial information on my computer, login/pw, I've never done that, but that is Exactly the kind of advise I don't think about anymore yet I know many people don't know about.

It happened again. My pw was changed by someone else and they had 6 subdomains running off my account. things like

casino.williamallendesigns
free.williamallendesigns
etc.

I certainly didn't visit any of them but I did have the hosting company delete my site completely, reset my pw personally and uploaded a fresh set of files. What a pain in the bottom.

So anyone able to recommend a reasonally prices hosting company with awesome support? Being a neofyte it's important for me to have 24/7 access to a real support person.

The only two I ever recommend to anyone:

http://www.dreamhost.com/
and
http://www.pair.com/

Between the two I host, run or manage about 28 sites. Been on both of them since the late 1990s.

There are lots of great hosting companies out there William, I am truly sorry to hear it happened again, but I do admit I am glad to hear you're thinking to move. Unfortunately all the great customer service in the world cannot make up for the inadequacies of the server itself. I wish you luck in finding a new server and there is a thread somewhere in the breakroom I think that is all about hosting services if you want to take a look there you might find not only some great servers, but some that are run even by those of us perusing the forums here lol. Happy hunting and lets hope that will stop that nasty hacker!

Here's the hosting link:
