I created a site in VSD. I had published my site and everything was working fine until I added some more pages and re uploaded to server. Now, my flash menu bar, flash photo galleries & flash contact form will not display on line. When I use preview, everything is there as it should be. When I check to see the files in the add/ remove files they are all there, XML, HTML & SWF. It doesn't make any sense that everything was working and now it won't. Can anybody help me out?

Well let's see I have a question or 2 did you get an error saying it couldn't find something yada yada? and did you use the normal way of uploading , VSD or other ftp client?

NOTE: usually resyncing may take care of this.

I've had an issue where on upload VSD will say something like "detected changes" and then goes into a lengthy process that looks like refreshing the files. Then the upload re-starts and at the end it asks whether it can delete old files. If you answer "yes" it deletes the swfobject.js file. I'd look to see whether that file is gone.

My workaround is to use my general-purpose ftp client to delete the whole site and re-upload it; drastic but it re-sets things nicely.

No, here's the deal. My site was uploaded using the built in VSD upload tool a few weeks ago and everything was fine. I have a flash menu bar, two flash photo galleries and a flash contact form. A few days ago I created a few more pages and uploaded them. When viewed online, all the flash objects were gone. I checked to make sure the files were there using the "add files/remove files" feature. Everything was there. I even deleted them and re added them, saved and uploaded again. All the flash objects were there when I used the built in VSD preview. I went to my server and the files were no there, even though they were there when I uploaded my site several times. I used the server upload feature to locate them on my computer and now they are showing up on the server and online. BUT I still have a problem because now my menu bar is there but there is no text in it now. I made sure they were all on the server and even deleted and re added them Still I have no text for the menu bar. The other objects at least work now. Any ideas?

My issue is the same as yours, except it would add my pages to the add files//remove files, and say it couldn't find them, flash quit showing, everything was gone as well, even if I left out the flash and replaced with text and still wouldn't show up. In preview everything was and is there now, upload and nothing. as if my flash needed updating or something-VSD burped and spit out the corn! I haven't figured out as to what causes this but it wasn't the first time this has happended, more like third. It's like the add files selection gets over whelmed and burns out! Then it will also ask if you would like to remove something when you added whatever and a whole list of stuff is gone when you click yes remove from server.
But again this is a learning experience now I need to find out why!!!! or attempt to.

You apparently solved my problem! I didn't even know what "resync website" was. After reading your post I located it in the settings tab and went ahead and pressed the button. I figured the worst that could happen is my whole website could disappear, right? Anyways, I bravely ( or foolishly) pressed it and it went through a whole file process and then uploaded to my server. I anxiously went online to discover that whatever it did, it fixed the problem. I know have my flash objects back and working as well as the missing menu bar text. Thanks so much. I don't know what the resync does, but it worked. I guess it reorganizes everything that may have gotten tweaked.
How's your issue coming? Did you try what I did and locate the files and upload utilizing your server upload feature?

Yeah I got mine taken care of as well , the resync does do wonders, but it wasn't VSD that faulted, it was me OOPS! all fixed now. did I forget to mention the phishing filter in IE. it burbed for some reason I assume that was the cause for vsd acting like it was full of tators.... lol

Yes! but screen blinked, phishing filter/check website popped up, which is the phishing filter, like it restarter windows again without restarting the comp, but I am ASSUMING that was the case, checked for viruses, notta,so I checked for updates in flash and windows all good, hey it works now so........I just can't leave well enough alone!
