HI,

I have read the threads on the FB Like button and believe that I am doing things correctly. However I still can't get it to display properly on Preview.

I have attached a Word file containing

1) a Print Screen from the FB Like Button Code making page;

2) the iframe code. When I use the Add HTML button I am putting the code into the Body HTML panel. Is this correct?

3) a Print Screen after I have added the HTML and pressed OK.
4) a Print screen after the Preview button is pressed. Perhaps also worth mentioning that it takes 15-20 seconds to do this.

I tried using the button in my actual site but also with an entirely newsite (no clutter?) and neither worked.

I also tried with the FB Like Box and the same things happened.

Any thoughts?

Jonathan

You say you have attached something. I see no attachment. Maybe it was to large to send as ONE attachement, so I'd try dividing it up into the various screenshots.

Jonathan, I have had trouble with this as well. I am not sure if my problem is the same as yours, but the way I fixed it was by adding "http:" to the iframe code as follows:

Facebook gives you something that starts like this:
<iframe src="//www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?...

It needs to be like this:
<iframe src="http://www.facebook.com/plugins/likebox.php?...

I hope this helps.

If I want a banner I create one, try Gimp it is free and you can make animated banners/buttons plenty of tutorials/examples. Be unique why use someones else's creation.

Now I use WIS, great little graphic program and I got it free with the new Form Builder. Bonza!

If I want to animate I create a lot of frames. Same Banner/Button with slight differences ie an additional letter or a character moving slightly. Dump all the frames into an animator and create a gif file.

I do not know if this hits the mark or not. I do have a Facebook page but don't like the stupid gossip. It is a quick way to message my siblings though who love that sort of thing and I must admit I have learnt more about them there than in a lifetime of one on ones at family get together's.

Strange, they tell strangers what they wont tell family members direct. Oh! well each to their own
