Might not be very constructive, but all new up to date SCCP templates i think are available as VSD templates, in CC templates store,, film noir is from an older version.

It is also easier to start in VSD with a template, and then slice it up to put it into SCDP you can get them virtually identical

I find that the easier way round personally , and it might save on blood stains !
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

I am using the Film Noir SCCP template for my shop. I tried using only SCCP to make the entire site, but alas there are too many things that cannot be changed (my home page will only show up as "home" for the page title, and the description is "/") Perhaps I have something messed up somewhere but I figure that I may as well make a VSD main page and give the site a nice starting point. My question is this, WHERE on earth is the background for that template stored???? It would be great to just use that same template picture for my VSD main page so that it looks as seamless as possible going from VSD to shopping cart.

Any ideas?

They are stored in:

CoffeeCup Software > Shopping Cart > Images > Page

Although I don't see Film Noir page in there, even though I have that theme, just the pages for the 10 new themes. You may have to extract the theme, or you can preview & save the background image yourself.

Viv - unfortunately I set my sight up in SCCP first and am now looking at adding VSD pages to enhance the basic cart site.

Bren - how can i extract the theme? The best i could come up with was to take a screen shot of my live page and I am in the process of attempting to overlay everything on top of the screen shot. Since this is my first attempt at using VSD lets just say that I can see how it would be much easier to work the other way around.

Does anyone have an old copy of SCCP that might have the older themes?

Hiya Chris,
If you actually publish your shop (I think it's exporting but I can't recall exactly) to your computer as if you were publishing it on the web, it will then have all the files that go to that shop in their on your computer. Now browse around through those files and I'm sure you'll find all the images that go with your theme in there, just not sure exactly where sorry.

Also, if you have computer smarts (never know who does these days lol) I am pretty sure if you save a copy of the theme itself somewhere using SCD (or pro or whatever you use for the designer) you can then have all the files that way too. You may need to copy the file to another location (so you don't break the real one of course lol) and then try changing the extension to .zip and see if you can open it to get the files out of their then.

I am pretty sure if you have the actual theme file from CC you can change the extensions to .zip to open them and extract the files. Make sure to make copies first though :)

This might sound like a stupid question..but in linking the cart to the VSD site..what is the actual file I would link my VSD "cart" button to? Is there an index file in the SCC files created that I would use to link to the VSD site? I am confused!

Hiya Stina,

Do you have a link to the 2 sites places? VSD site and Shop that is. If so I can give you the exact links.

If you don't have them uploaded yet then it's a bit more difficult to tell you for sure but.

VSD has an index.html page when it creates your site, that would be your home page so whatever your domain is plus that index.html

The shop would depend on what directory you install(ed) it in. In most cases people install it to a shop directory so it would be something like:

http://www. yourdomainnamehere.com/shop/index.php

If you want to make your VSD home page be the actual home page all the way around, you can have the SCC program setup the home page to be an external link in the settings. Then if someone clicks the Home link on the Shop menu it will take them to the VSD home page. Add the Shop to your VSD menu and you then have it linked.

Hope that helps :)
