I just downloaded VSD build19 which replaced a working build 18. build 19 installed first by uninstalling build 18 then installed build 19 fine so far On the launch of b19 nothing appeared for over a minute and when I tried the icon a message said that "Minidump" could not be found.
I reinstalled b18 and it works fine. Anyone else having this issue?
I realize that my OS is not supported "Win 2000" but what is the difference in build 18 &19 that would cause this crash? I'll test it on my xp machine which is not on the net and see if it still crashes.

Why are you using at 10+ year old operating system!!
Try right clicking on the desktop icon and select Run As Administrator and that should fix you up.

Scott, there was a fellow at the restaurant that has a1962 El Camino, cherry red, no dings. Someday I'll restore this boat anchor PC with win 2000 and show it off like that El Camino................or not
The build 18 icon, right click does not have the "Run as Administrator" feature, would build 19 have it?
Where else, maybe control panel. I looked but nothing there and I believe I'm set up that way but could be wrong.
All else fails I'll run b18 till I upgrade, need to clean out a lot of files that take up room(Gigs) but have long since been programs I need to use.
You ever take a day off??

Wyndham - If that Win2k machine ever drops off on ya, let me know... I have a spare 286 with DOS 6.2 on it ready to stand in
As for Scott taking a day off? Not in the ~3 years that I've been hanging around

Hiya Wyndham,
The right click menu is based on your windows system, so if you don't see a compatibility tab when you right click and choose properties, that would mean you don't have that option to use. Yes you really need to upgrade that windows version, there is a lot of things that won't run in that system, lots of software that is just not compatible with it and never will be. Dunno if any of CC's programs are in that group though.

Phil I bet you'd love to have the $$$$ you paid for that 286, just think whaat you could buy with those dollars today.

I had a fully functioning website using VSD v. 6. But since downloading v.7, up to and including Build 19, I've had nothing but problems.
Some of the issues I experienced early on have been "fixed" or I found a way to work around them but the most recent, and most important, issue has become “worse” over time and remains unresolved…
Now, I can't even publish the website without it "crashing".
For awhile I was able to successfully complete the upload process on the second or third attempt.
Over the last weekend I experienced eight failed attempts. The site is now completely un-useable.
Since 12-04-2010, after downloading v7, I’ve sent 38 emails to support about various issues. Some were addressed but apparently they are unable to help on this one!
I have 100’s of hours in developing my site. Over 670 products on over 130 pages and now I can’t upload it!
I hope no one else has had this happen to them but if anyone has a suggestion I would sure appreciate your reply.
I’m using Windows 7. I usually use IE8 but have tried Firefox and Chrome. I have tried all of the suggestions support has offered to no avail.
I’m using a Verizon Air Card to upload. It takes close to 6 hours to complete the upload. The site is only 12.5 MB but has in excess of 20,000 images.
I have tried a hard wired Ethernet connection…faster..yes, but still failed to complete the upload. I never have a network disconnect when this fails to upload.
Thanks to everyone!

You never said which build you were using or if you try the same steps below. Try right clicking on the desktop icon and select Run As Administrator and see if that helps.

Thanks for your reply Scott
Your written reply was as underlined below:

I am using Build 19 to answer that question. And YES I have tried "Run as Administrator".
Your response indicates that there are steps "below" to follow ... I dont see any steps listed to follow so I am a little confused about what steps you are referring to???
After writing my post I created a single page website explaining that the site was having "technical difficulties". The result: Witout any changes to the FTP settings or anything else I was able to upload that single page in a second or two???
Does this explain anything? I dont know!
As a "test" I also effectively reduced the size of the original site by approx. 1/2 by eliminating perhaps 50 pages that were what I call "single product pages" some of which had links to PDF files online to see if that made a difference.
Still crashes.
I have removed Virus protection.
I have disabled the firewall.
I have mentioned before that I think VSD is without equestion the BEST and easiest to use WYSIWYG editor on the market at any price and I STILL feel that way. There is no way I could have created my site detailed as it is quite as easily with anything else I have tried...and I've tried a few! BUT having said that, all is in vain if I cant UPLOAD it!!!
What's going on??? Any thoughts???
Thanks Again

I would check your DEP settings and add VSD to the exemption list. After you add it, you need to reboot. You can find instructions here at http://www.itechtalk.com/thread3591.html
You may also want to run some tests with it completely turned off too and see if you get better results that way as well.
