Copy & paste to next page in same...

If I copy a piece of html or an image and paste it on a new page (with same dimensions), everything shifts a little downwards and to the right.

Since I need to add most elements to every page, it is important that everything is positioned exactly the same as on the previous page.

By the way, if you copy & paste an element on 'the same' page, it also moves down & right.

Known issue? Advise welcome..

Hi Monique,

The next build of VSD will solve this problem ;) We hope to have it ready for next week.

VSD was built this way because people were pasting and couldn't tell that they had done so when it landed right on top of the copied object. Make a standard page with all your objects, then every time you add a page have it copy this page. It's been requested for this to be an option thats setable by the user in a future release.
You can look at the bottom right of the page to set objects in the same position as other pages.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Monique, when you click on an element on your page (photo, paragraph...) the info will appear at the bottom right of the screen under your page. You'll see something like : x495 y300. That tells you how many pixels from the left page edge - x and how far down from the top edge - y, the item is.

But so many of us have griped about the copy/paste offset (it's 10px over and down), that as Eric mentioned, it will be taken care of in the next VSD7 release (coming soon!). Anyway, the best way to get your pages set up is to create your main page with all the elements that will be present on all pages, such as a background, logo and other graphics, maybe an address-phone number, then go to Add Page on the top menu bar and you'll find an option to copy an existing page. Then you'll have all your static elements in place and just need to add items for the individual pages.

A lot of us we'll be happy to see that offset go away!

Another way to work around this is to shift the object your going to be coping 10 up and 10 left before you right click copy that way when you paste the objects into the other pages they will paste where you want them then you only have to put the original back and your done.

I didn't see the option to paste to the same position on VSD 7.0 B 11. Scott, did you guys have time to work on this request?

There is no option, it just does it automatically. However pasting on the "same" page will always be offset by 10 pixels.
