I've just uploaded my first website and I've terrible trouble getting on there. Everytime I tried it said there was an error, by accident I clicked on the link for my site and there it is on the internet - don't know how that happened!!
Anyway I've already spotted my mistake on the homepage where i was experimenting with mouseover and didn't delete it (it says Dave). I've tried to upload my corrected version and it hasn't worked so far. Any advice on the mess that is my first attempt would be gladly accepted!

I cannot see a mouseover that says "Dave" anywhere. Nor any other mouseover. I am using Firefox 3.6.

Have you tried clearing your cache?

For the purpose of your site, I think it fits in well. I have to admit that I am a teacher who cringes at the thought of bulletin boards, etc. I have 2 in my classroom that have not changed in years. One is when I first started teaching HTML and the tags are in ALL CAPS! I just point to it and say "Don't do it like that!"

Hiya Katrina,

I don't think your background is too busy at all, but I do think you could center your site rather than having it left aligned and that would probably make it even nicer.

I did notice that the white backgrounds behind the content in the center load a bit slower than normal, but I think that's a VSD site issue due to the way it puts the site together graphically so it's all good and not real slow, just a bit slower than the rest.

I'm not sure if VSD has this capability, but if it does I would suggest using a drop down menu or some type of tree style menu for those pages that go way outside of the menu so you can have the same menu on each page. It's not 100% necessary, and your menu looks great, just a suggestion for continuity of flowing through your site easier.

Other than that, the site looks great, I love the colorfulness of it without it being too busy, it's very classroom like and that's the whole point so good job!

Hi Katrina
Like the site, very colourful, kind of grabs your attention!

One addition to consider I think is some form of feedback loop like a guestbook or webform where your viewers can offer new ideas or comment on yours.
Feedback is always useful from your viewers, give you ideas on what works and what doesnt.
