Hi everyone,

I am using the registered version of VSD.

I need to finish this site today and have it up and running by tonight. I am quite slow at creating it, so a friend of mine is going to help me.

Please let me know.....Thanks in advance for all your help! :)

First make sure your friend has their own registered version of VSD. Now as far as sharing pages I wouldn't recommended it. It's pretty involved and never full proof.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

This is a site I built for my work.(RSD)

This is a site I built for use in my job.(HTML Editor)

This is my personal site used for testing and as an easy way to share photos.(RLM imported to RSD)

VSD is a one man band unfortunately. Yes you can have different people work on things, but only 1 person at a time so you'd have to send files to the other person, they would do their work and send it back to you. Can't both work on things at the same time as the program has no import functionality to be able to import different things from different people.

Best way to do it would be to let them do what they need to do, and then get the files back from them and work on your part and swap the files back and forth as you need to, but be sure you are working with the most current files so you don't overwrite what eachother has done :)

We will not be sharing pages.

We are both working on the same site. He is working on Available for Adoption page and I am working on the home page.

When we are done, I want to take his page he has working on integrate it into my Home page. Does that make sense?

When I preview it, my work on the home page will show and then when I click on the Available tab, I will see what he completed.

Sorry if i am not using the correct terminology -

VSD can not integrate, import, do anything at all as far as combining things outside the program file itself. In other words, you cannot have multiple people work on the same site at the same time. It cannot combine things in any way. That's why you need to do one person at a time. You work on what you need to work on and then send all the files to them so they can work on their part then. Cannot do it at the same time though.

I can offer this but it is not fool proof. When the site is uploaded it makes a backup in that directory online.
If you both download the latest vnu backup and work on that but only on the page you have agreed on. That will get the site done, however once finished one of you will have to go through the complete site to check for errors.

VSD is a quick way to create a viable site but I agree it is a one person deal. I hear all the time that the site has to be finished tonight. Well I am afraid that the only way to create a viable site is with planning.

The best way is to sketch the pages in an exercise book of element placing, content of each page. page names, meta information, any clever displays etc. Then the actual page can be build using that guide. I cannot imagine trying to do that first in a blank VCD page or coding in a blank html page. It would be all hit and miss hoping for a result Eeek! Trying to use VCD or the editor to plan is not a plan.

With a layout that can be adjusted and with the logic that can be followed page by page in an exercise book it makes building the first draft of the actual site so much faster and the site will tell its story so much better.
Still I guess others may have a different view. I believe doing without a plan is not the best option. Bit like cooking without a recipe, hoping the result is eatable.

Are you both working within the same network? If so there may be a solution. But if not it is kind of difficult as the html files are stored on each of your computers so if your not using the same files it wont be productive really
