Background image problem - Post ID...
Hi all, I have another problem! My customer wanted to add some more artwork to her website, so I added the pics, but had to extend the page to 1900. I resized the background image in paintshop pro to 2000, but there is white space above the background image, which I can't seem to remove. What is wrong?

That's a good question. My suggestions are to check the original image, and make sure the white part didn't get added somehow.
OR
Try cropping the background picture again and re-add it, but use a different file name. If the file name is the same (new image vs old image) it still reads the same old file in VSD unless you have deleted the image file from the file list before adding the new.

It looks like VSD extends the size from the top rather than tacking it on the bottom. Have you tried selecting things and moving them up on the page? Use the up arrow on your keyboard so everything stays in the same position as it moves towards the top.
Have you thought about using the photo gallery on that page? That way it would be easy to add new images. You could even do 2 of them - one to display the slideshow (featured artwork) and below that the regular gallery that viewers can click through to see all images. You'd never need to change the page size again!

I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by. (Douglas Adams)

I tried this, but the background image, because it's in the page properties, doesn't move!
The photo gallery is a good idea, just mulling it over now!

Thanks, but tried that, and it doesn't!
It looks as if part of that background image has been merged in with the front most images. If you have the Firefox web master tools as an addon you can check this theory out for yourself. You can probably also see that by checking in your image files to see all the images which make up the page.
Here attached is the screenshot I took of your page on a 1440 x 900 monitor resolution. The page is not centred but pushed all over to the left of the screen.
Consider carefully how important it is to your site to keep that large image out the back which can't really be seen anyway. You might be better off with a single tone colour maybe?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
