Another text disaster in VSD - Post...
I hope you got my last post about L&R justify, Undo, and bullet. Don't know why the post isn't here.
Here is another non-starter about this VSD:
You recommend setting up a separate text box to go around pictures (and problems). In one short page of point form using bullet, I had to set up 16 separate text boxes. Meticulously lined them up. Went into browser, and they are left, right, up, down, letters missing, extra bullets where I had deleted them...
Another page where I used just 2 text boxes, the browser put a huge space in between the boxes, and one text box is wider than I had lined up beside photo.
I am getting very frustrated with this program. Waste of time and money.

If you select all the text boxes then click on "Object" at the very top left navigation menu. (Above save), then select "Align" now select which way you want them aligned.

Kay, sorry to hear this has been so frustrating for you.
Here's something you can do to get around the bullet issue. Just type ALT + 7 at the start of your text to get a bullet point.
You can also group items so they'll stay together ( select 2 or more items and go to top menu > Object > Group). For text boxes, make sure they all have the same justification; all left justified for example. You can insert a guideline to make sure you have them all perfect, then group them. To make edits, just un-group and make your changes.
Not all browsers render text the same way, I often get things just perfect in Firefox only to see it messed up in IE. I make sure to leave some 'breathing room' around text so if a 4 line paragraph becomes 5 lines in IE, it's OK.
Is it possible to post a link to the site you're working on? If we could see the page, it would be easier to figure out how best to get this in order for you.

Sorry guys, none of your suggestions work.
For starters, I tried to add an alt7 inside a brand new text box, nothing happens, just ding, ding, ie no such command.
I wish the site is in such 'almost good' order that I could load it up for you to see. But it's so damn lousy with the text that I will not let the world see it, so you can't see it either.
Aligning text boxes is not possible with the way your bullets have their own mind. Even in HTML Editor, the bullets/numbers stick out to the left in a column of its own. Here in VSD, you can barely pick them out because the texts cover up and align to the left. Unprofessional. So grouping and all that do nothing.
Look at Word, how there can be several levels of indentation. That's what I want to port over to my web page. It's not possible in VSD.
BTW, adding HTML codes into VSD is a complete mystery. Sometimes the option shows up inside Object, other times not. So I can't modify the code. Eg add align="justify" command to override only right or left or center.

VSD is a WYSIWYG program, trouble is you only get what you want with a bit of thought
There are lots of us here with no coding experience at all who manage to produce amateur websites with it that are functional, and pleasing to the eye, so its not all bad
True you can't get commands to automatically space text, theres a technical name for it, gobledeegoop to me.
The html editor on the other hand apparently is a far more professional tool, and lets face it, for true professional results a WYSIWYG tool really is not ideal
Personally, i think you need to take a step back, and re think before wasting any more of your valuable time, you obviously purchased without taking advantage of the fully functional free trial.
However, have a look in the thread for what were you able to make with VSD there are plenty of examples of what can be done, and there are three alone in my signature, and thats with no code experience at all.

To add HTML code to VSD, you need to write your code outside of VSD then use the HTML tool in VSD to place the code into your page.
Kay, you could get a free SDrive account (name it something different than your actual site name), then upload your site to it. In spite of VSD's text limitations, many of us have figured out how to get the results we want.
If we could see your page, we could help you get it figured out.
• I don't know why the ALT + 7 doesn't work for you, I can use it in VSD as well as here.
• Also ALT + 0149 •

If you want to add bullets. Type the text left justified line by line. Highlight it and in objects click on bullets (numbers or alpha is also an option)
