Adding a Link to grouped object -...
I grouped several small pictures together and would now like to add a link. VSD doesn't seem to let me do this. Is there an easy way or is it allowed and I'm doing something wrong.
Thank you,
Bob

I haven't got my VSD loaded back on yet after a reformat but from memory you should be able to click on the image and then on the hyperlink tool in the top toolbar and a popup appears and you can link to another page or file or website url there.
I know you believe you understand what you think I said...but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not exactly what I meant.
Yup, that works fine on any of the other single images. However, with the 3 pictures I have grouped, it won't let me attach a link to the grouped pictures. I'm guessing that I need to edit and combine the pictures in something else and then bring it in as a single image, but I thought I'd check for a simpler solution.
I'm not at my "Coffee Cup" computer, so can't check this right now - I think if you make links from the individual objects first, then group them it works.
I know it wont work the other way (group first then try to make link), the link options are greyed-out.
Bob, let us know if that works - OK?

Good answer, paintbrush!
To amplify, it seems to work this way:
1) Create a link for each picture, individually
2) Group the pictures as desired
For this scenario, all the pictures will have links. However, if you want each picture to go to the same link, each must have the same link assigned to it prior to grouping them. It also works in the converse -- if pictures with different links are grouped together, clicking one of the pictures will send you to the site that is linked to that picture.
If you don't create a link for any picture in the group, that picture will not be linked to a site.
It appears that grouping is merely a convenience for moving several items without changing their positions relative to one another.

Good deal! I thought I had done this before, like with an arrow next to a text link (so it doesn't matter which gets clicked). Grouping things is also handy if you need to copy the same things to several pages.

The act of grouping them does not make the link apply to both the arrow and the text. If one of them hasn't been defined as a link, it will not act as a link, regardless of grouping status.
You all nailed it! Thank you. My current site was done in MS Publisher and I've used to it and all of it's little things. But I know it's not very clean or efficient so I'm trying to convert over to CC VSD.

Thank you for following up. Some people just disappear without letting us know whether their problems have been solved or not.
