Theoretical Question about image...
Hi Everyone,
I have an existing website www.thefairygathering.com, which helps artists to promote themselves, years ago when I created it it was hand coded. It has since become a large site and of course I would like to update it, and make it responsive (which I have yet to learn how to do). There are thousands of photos on there. What I want to know is if there is a way to create a website like it, as in you click the image and it takes you to a new page with info and the photo, which allows for google ads to be a part of it, as that is the only way I can afford to keep it going.
My problem is that I don't want to create every single page for each photo again, it's tedious and time consuming. I love how in the shopping cart creator you create a product add the info and the page for the single item is automatically created from that.
So my question is if there is a way to do this? Is there software that can allow me to make this site responsive (I'm guessing responsive layout maker) but also the format I am looking for for all these photos and their individual pages?
I should mention I'm a little out of practice and out of date when it comes to coding.
I appreciate any help I can get!
Holly

Holly, What you are looking for is a database-driven site. Essentially, that's what Shopping Cart is. The database is in the software, and it creates static pages from the data. Creating what you are wanting is not too hard, especially with good planning.
Probably the best solution would be to create an actual database-driven site. If you do so, all you have to do is enter new information into the database. All the pages are created based on templates that you have set up. Once example of this is http://candle-fundraising.org/. If you look under Candle Fundraiser Providers, there is a list of companies there. They each have their "own page," but what I really did was create one template that displays the information from the database.
It can also be done without a database. It's a little more work on an ongoing basis, but there are ways to use templates to make it much easier. An example of this is http://bobjohnsonins.com/. On this site, they don't have a database. It's the same principle, however, as the database-driven site. I created one template and then each page displays the template and tells it what should appear in the template. One template controls the layout and visual look of the pages so that the only thing I do is change the actual information that appears on the page.
I can help you with it if you like. Just let me know.

Did you know that Web Form Builder can be used for both simple and complicated forms and that it's not limited to the default fonts and buttons? Take a look at a form we developed for WindowTinting.com.

Brian your brilliant! The Data base is exactly what I need! Can you please help guide me in the right direction to do this? Can it be used with the Responsive Layout Maker?
Thank you so much! Literally jumping for joy because you have no idea how much of this hand coded stuff I've had to do in the past!
Holly
Holly, RLM is for creating the layout, not the server coding. Planning a database will take some discussion. Please email me at support@usconsumernet.org with your contact information and the best time to call. I'll give you a call and help you plan the best approach for you.
