Is the HTML Editor a wysiwyg editor it doesn't say so on the main page. Maybe I need Visual Site Designer?

VSD is wysiwyg, with free hosting, and a nice simple no need to know ftp or anything built in upload tool,

I'll back Viv on this. If your new to website design and want an easy fast way to get a website up. VSD is the king.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Actually I'm not new to website design but I don't do html. I have 10 year old site that I set up and maintain with Netscape/Mozilla WYSIWYG Composer which is becoming obsolete and I want a replacement editor.

Take a look at the sites in Viv's signature. He has some nice ones. The site in my signature is what I use to help other users like yourself with things that need a little more html code to get them done. Take advantage of the free trial for VSD. You'll like what you see.:)

Sorry Grampaken, my mistake, I should not assume, as it makes an ass out of U & me

I dont do html either, rolly spent ages one day trying to get me to change one little tiny bit of code, i swear he could have sworn at me :)

Tried a few wysiwyg before CC VSD found them all a bit tiresome, this is dead easy, and you will find lots of help in forum if needed, + CC staff are brilliant, without either none of my sites would exist at all.

Hello. I have a question that is a continuation of this topic. Didn't know if I should start a new topic or just post here? I am new to html/css. I can do a few things, not much. I wanted to know if the VSD allows you to see and edit any code? I would really like a tool that does most of the work for me but I might want to change some easy things like meta tags. Does the VSD allow this? Thanks for any input!!

Paula, you could use the visual editor option within the HTML Editor. But keep in mind, the Editor is like 2 very different programs in one; an html editor and a visual editor. Choose one and stick with it because they're not meant to be interchangeable.

As for VSD, things like adding/changing keywords, etc. are built-in – you don't need to dig into the html.
It does have a tool to add html if you want to add things into your VSD site (galleries, videos, menus...).

Normally I'd agree with this, but the next version of HTML Editor does not have the visual tab in it anymore. I believe we've seen the end of an era on this one.

Recommendation, use the trial version of both HTML Editor and VSD and see what each one has to offer (just don't get too used to the visual tab).
