Suitable solution for a client?

Hello everyone,
I am searching for a shopping cart solution for my client that she can operate via a control panel for herself. Will Coffee Cup do this, or will she have to buy a copy of the software in order to add products to her store?

Thanks so much for your help,

If all she's needing to do is "inventory management", ie: adding new product item, or removing old items, if you use SCC Pro I believe she should be able to use a spreadsheet program (such as Excel or Ooo Calc) to modify the shop inventory file. I will look into this a bit further and get back with you, or if someone else has experience in trying this and could clarify...

OK, at a minimum, you could export the inventory file to a .csv file and send it to her. Then she could update product data (add items, delete items, change weight, price, etc) and save file, send back to you and you could import the .csv file to update her shop. You would still have control to shop settings, such as shipping and tax rates, and if you use SCD PRO you would be able to control the "aesthetics" of the shop for her.

This does come with a word of caution though - If she's not computer literate (and even some that are could have problems with this) I would advise against doing her shop this way. But that would be entirely up to you (and her) to decide. ;)

I just want to check this is not being confused with something like Cubecart, where the editing and products are changed at the server, rather than a control panel as such

SCCP has the whole shop, stock, pages etc on your personal pc, which when you update, or add products has to be sent via FTP to the server.

Once you have it all up and running you could transfer everything to your clients pc for them to update, with all the necessary settings for FTP pre set by you, they just need broadband connection and a few minutes tuition from you its relatively simple all Coffeecup programs are beginner user friendly
