It’s been years since I have had time to work on any of my personal websites now that I’m totally retired from the military no more deployments etc., I need some recommendations. All my websites were done with Visual Site Designer, Photo Gallery, Web Video Player, Web JukeBox etc.

What do you recommend I use for a photo slide show, video player, music player for background music. All the CoffeeCup software I used before to go with VSD is Flash and not supported by mobile devices (Apple, Android).

VSD is so easy for me to use to bad Flash is not supported.

Hi phil
I think you should take a look at Responsive Site Designer.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

This is a site I built for my work.(RSD)

This is a site I built for use in my job.(HTML Editor)

This is my personal site used for testing and as an easy way to share photos.(RLM imported to RSD)

Hi Phil, Not even VSD is supported any more... ;)

I guess Eric meant to get you interested in Site Designer, because that is where his link is pointing to. There has been a bit of name confusion between RSD and SD, but as long as it says version 3.x, you're on the right track.
In SDv3 (so, there is a name that can't be misunderstood ;) ) you will have up to 4 grid systems to choose among. I would recommend taking a good look at the one called Foundation. That is because most people here are using it, and that way your chances of getting help, if needed, are better than with the other systems. With SDv3 you can insert media, build image slide shows etc without much trouble.
In most cases you don't need to write code, but it is a good thing to have some knowledge about coding. But we'll help you getting over the hurdles, just ask us.

Thank you both, if I were to use Site Designer am I correct to assume that everything I need to add slideshows, video and music to my websites etc., is incorporated in the program? I'm a real armature and need easy and straight forward software that's why I liked VSD and its supporting software.
.
What's the main difference between Responsive Site Designer and Bootstrap Builder?

Yes, it's all there. What you need to do, though, is to make sure to supply all the video and audio formats that are necessary to be used on different platforms (like e.g. Windows and Mac)

To answer your other question: Responsive Site Designer (RSD) came first, with an in-house grid system called Coffeegrinder. Then Foundation Framer (RFF) and Bootstrap Builder (RBB) were made to introduce the grid systems Foundation and Bootstrap. RSD was then issued in a new version, with RBB and RFF built in, and we started making websites following the 'mobile first' principle, which is still ruling the ground. Now SDv3 (Site designer) is a new version of RSD, but because it is a bit different in its approach to Bootstrap and Foundation, it has got its own name.

Thanks again, I'm going to try Responsive Site Designer I've always got great support from CoffeeCup in the past and I know I will need it going forward. :)
