Simple problem with responsive...

I am using bootstrap 4 and create a div with a background image. I want the div to size responsively based upon the background image. However, the div does not seem to size properly no matter what I try.

I am trying to create a hero section with either an image or a slider.

I am used to coding in a text editor, however, it has been a long time since I have done anything substantial. I chose bootstrap since I have used it in the past. I am not married to bootstrap. I am semi-retired and trying to create a new site for my apartments.

I am in the trial period so I need to work fast to determine if CoffeeCup Site Designer is right for me. I have a few sites to design including a local landlord association.

Any help to crack this nut will be appreciated.

Cheers!!

Hi, first of all, it would be good if you could change your user name. Using the name of the company, whose forum you are visiting, will likely lead to misunderstandings, and it may also lead to your being banned.

As to what you are asking, I made a wee mockup, although I didn't use a background image. But it resizes in sync with the div it is sitting in.

I added a page and made the same, but this time with a background image. There is no link between the two pages, you have to look up the page 'Blank'.

Thanks for the examples. I will check them out later this evening.

I did not choose the username that I can recall. I agree it should be changed! I did go to the profile and cannot see where to change it. Would the nickname override this??

If someone can change it through the back door, just put user on the end or make it anything you want.

Cheers!!

Yes. Nickname did the trick.

SD version 6.6.3
The Window cannot be resized horizontally.
It stays fixed.
Any solutions.

The version number 6.6.3 applies to the built-in Foundation version, not to SD itself.
So what kind of window are you having problems with? The program window, or a site you have made? We need a lot more details before we can start pondering over a solution. If you are in the middle of creating a site, it would be best if you could submit your project file. Zip it up and post it here. Or if it is too large (more than 2MB), pop it in your dropbox (or similar) and post the URL.
