sharing violations upon save

I have my web site almost finished and now I am getting the following message when I try to save pages:
"Encountered a sharing violation while accessing C:\\\\\home-2_website\files\mo_IMG_72.jpg".

The IMG file is different all the time. Sometimes it is a button from the original theme - sometimes a button from my pages, etc. If I say "OK" to the message and save again it saves without the message, but If I close the site and go back, my save isn't there. It's there as long as I don't close your site.

I go to Documents and delete the offending file, then go back to your site and do the same save, and all is ok. But if I change the page, try to save again, I get another message with a different offending file. This is happening with most of the saves on most of the pages. If I delete the original theme images, they just come back.

I have looked at my files and the web site files your system has created and they are all set to share with "everyone". Could this have anything to do with the fact that I am running Win7 64 bit and having to open as "Administrator"? I am running VSD7.0, Build12. I had a problem with the install and was sent a beta version. (See support thread "Installation of VSD trial not successful").

I am losing page changes when I close your site. Help.

OK Folks,
I'm now certain that you have a bug.

My husband, a retired computer systems engineer (hardware & software) of 50 yrs, and myself (a retired programming analyst - cobol/assembler - of 16 yrs) have been testing for hours.

It appears to be your SAVE process that is bad. It seems to us that the system should overlay the file of the buttons (eg. IMG_99) upon saving a page instead of creating new button files each time.

When I make a change in a page and try to save it, it gives me the message "Encountered a sharing violation while accessing C:\\\\\home-2_website\files\mo_IMG_72.jpg".

These offending messages are usually buttons from the theme site that I used to build my site. I did not actually use any of them or link to any of them - in fact, I deleted all of the data on the theme and put in my own. Occasionally, the offending file is one of my own buttons, and when this happens there are many copies of the same button file.

I go to Documents to delete ALL of the copies of the offending files, there are usually many, and then the page saves successfully.

However, if I successfully save a page and then successfully save a second page - then exit your program - the second save does not keep. This defies explanation.

This has only been happening since I built a page named "about" and the theme also had a button named "about".

If we can do anything further to help - please let us know - we'll be glad to try, as I'm getting a little despirate about losing my data.

If you want to do that old fashioned thing like use a land-line, the number is 228-832-7976. Most of the time we're here between 10 am and 10 pm central time.

PS How do I delete all of these original VSD Theme files and make it keep. They just reappear whenever I save a page, and there are hundreds of them! About a dozen new files from the Theme are created every single time I do a save on one of my pages! Thank goodness I have a 1 Terrabyte harddrive, or else my system would have gagged. I feel sorry for your less fortunate customers!

Hiya Camilla,

I would suggest you open a Support Ticket and reference this post. That's where the real CC support is, the forums are mostly just users helping users with periodical posts from the CC dev team here and there. Posting a Support Ticket is the best way to be sure that your information gets to the right place. Thanks for doing all that work today and hopefully they can help figure out what's going on :)
