I'm looking for a new html via ftp editor because of having to connect using sftp now. I could use either of these two programs and have no problem purchasing software. They can do what I need via normal ftp. The problem comes with SFTP.
I work on a lot of websites on around 10 different servers. The network guys have ftp set up so that we connect to one central ftp location, but have different usernames for different servers.
For example, our sftp server is ftp2.xxx.com.
Then I have user names like jxxxvh5vm1,jxxxvh2vm3. When I try to use direct ftp, I get an error # 79 could not open directory for reading. Like I said, normal ftp works fine.
When I try to open a site in the HTML Editor with sftp, it shows all the folders on all the servers, even though I have tried to connect to one only. If I try to expand a node to be able to edit a file, it looks like it is going to expand it, but files don't show. The error in the ftp log is Error ListDirectory.
Is there any solution to this?

I use the HTML editor and Direct ftp to hook to my host through sftp. It took a while to get the correct settings even with CC's and the host's help.
