SC creator vs Creator Pro with SC...

Okay guys and gals.

I downloaded SC Creator Pro 3.9, and realized that I will need SC Designer Pro 3.9 to design my cart.
So I downloaded that and it is giving me an error message saying the two programs are not compatible and that I need the earlier program, of Shopping Cart Creator.

Is this correct. Are the Creator Pro and Designer Pro not compatible? Or is something wonky with my computer.

Thanks
Donna

If you look closely at the dialog, it is probably telling you that you have an older version of either Creator Basic or Designer Basic installed as well. Just update those programs first to the latest versions and then you can install Designer Pro.

Actually, the opposite happened.
When I downloaded Creator, then Designer pro would install. When I only had Creator PRO installed, then Designer Pro would not install. What the heck?

Also, I am in Designer Pro and cannot for the life of me figure out where you go to change text. There are only four options. Background - Border - Font - and Advanced. None of these enable you to change text.
How is that done??:)

Thanks

You do not modify any text in Designer. All text modifications are handled in Creator. You only style the text in Designer.

Okay . . . so you need to have both programs open and switch back and forth between the two to see what you are creating?

Where, in Creator, do you change the text of the header or body that you see in designer? I'm reading manuals and feeling pretty lost. I have built 8 web sites with coffee cup and it seems that nothing I have learned is translating to either of these programs.

Thanks

Also, the theme options in creator don't match the ones in Designer. I picked one in Designer, that will work for me, but it is not in Creator?? Will it still work?

No, you don't need to do it that way. You first design your theme in Designer and when you are done, simply export it to Creator and then add your content. You only need to use Designer when you want to change the look and feel of your shop.

Designer and Creator use the same themes. What you see in one program you will see in the other. However there are themes Creator Basic and Creator Pro can only use, so make sure to be looking at the correct theme.

Is it possible to delete pages, so you only have HOME and SHOP HOME and not Categories, etc?

No, the primary pages you see in the software cannot be deleted.
