Hello All,

My name is Mary. I have been using CC for a couple of years. Although, HTML still remains a major mystery to me, I am slowly learning new things. I am in the very beginning of my second attempt at my company's (Island Packers) website. I am no computer expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I am the most computer literate person, believe me that is not saying much.

I have managed to get an HTML editor menu into my new pages. An accomplishment that had me cheering at my computer at 1030pm. Once I had located the how to in the gardening pages here at CC it was actually very easy.

I'm 56, live in Southern California,am happily single, have one child and two grandchildren. I hope to acquire enough skills using this great software to support my retirement in a few years somewhere in Central or South America.

My first website was an undertaking based on being able to update our site in house. The owner said can't we do this here? I said we could try I'll look for some software online. I downloaded many free trials. Used them all for a few house trying to build the same thing on each trial version. I found CC software was the easiest to work with. Went to the boss and said I want to buy this software. I bought is and learned some of it and then BAM! I built this crazy large website. While building the site (75% completed) our then current site was hacked/contaminated/condemned by Google. It was build of old unsupported software and could not per repaired.

I got a call from out IT guy (contractor not in house) he was at the office at 930PM looking for the site on my computer, but is was on three flash drives (back up) in my purse. I got a slight reprieve since it wasn't at the office and we launched my incomplete site the next morning. I was up all night trying to get it done. Keep in y I did not have full creative control but had to run it all by the boss and implement his suggestions. He is the BOSS after all.

Much to my COMPLETE amazement it uploaded and launched fully functioning, where completed.
And thus the also new, online booking program for our reservation software came on line. This addition was a huge step forward for my little company and I was the one who tested and conferred with our software company to bring it into operation. The dawn of the new millennium for this company.

Now when I look at the site I think it looks like Fred Flintstone built it. I had HTML Editor when I built it, but was truly buffaloed by the complexity of it all. The entire site was built in VSD. I plan on adding some CSS to the new site starting with the new horizontal menu. I can hardly wait to see what I come up with. I'm sure I'll need more help this time as I venture out into the unknown world of HTML.

Have a great Sunday

Welcome, Elaine. Oh yeah, we can be very nice and helpful if we choose to :P But we also have this tendency to pull each other's leg in between. Just like a big family. And Jo Ann is famous for her loose frying pan...
Ha en riktig god dag!

Hi,

My names is Neil, I'm 33 years old and love the internet! I decided to learn HTML just for fun to see if i could maybe get into web design as a sideline and see how it goes. Progress is good, but slow, working nine to five so learning in my down time. I've done the Codeacademy HTML course and really enjoyed the way the courses are so easy to understand. Translating that to my own projects has proved a little difficult, so I'm trying to get as much practice in as I can. I've still got a lot to learn. Computers and technology have always interested me but only an interest; I've never coded anything other than a simple game when i was younger, on a Spectrum 48K! Looking forward to learning.

I'm very happily married and we have a beautiful baby girl. I wonder what the internet and technology will be like when she's older, and I wonder what she will be able to do on a computer when she's older. The future is on the internet and I'd like to be able to teach her something, give her a head start!

Look forward to talking to you all soon, i've read a lot of peoples questions on here and it seems like a great community. Im probably gonna need a lot of help!
