Hulloh, I might be new but not new

I've been messing around with VSD for about a week and I must say I'm impressed.

Unfortunately I am getting increasingly frustrated with two aspects of the program.

I have a simple background which includes text on the foreground (nothing new right?)
I have made a button to link to an external article. When I save the page, the damn buttons go behind the background - HOLD ON! before you tell me to save the object to the front I will tell you I've already done that. I've tried the different permutations but the damn buttons move behind the background. WAIT! there's more. It's inconsistent! Sometimes only a few buttons will move to the background.

This is driving me nuts.

What am I doing wrong?

Bonjour Monsiermaggot :D - Could you post a link to the page?
Also, for your background, did you use the Settings options or did you insert a shape/image? Did you use the Buttonize feature for your buttons?

Hi there;

I just posted the information online as a test since I thought it was the "Preview" that was causing the error. I put the site back to "under construction" until I resolve this.

I'm sure it's something minor but it's driving me nuts.

Here's what I did to reproduce the problem.

The background itself was generated by the program. I have a "Tabbed" window that I set up with the shape/image. I then put the buttonized item in that frame.

I thought that moving it to the "front" would ensure it stayed there but whenever I save/preview/post the page, the button moves to the back.

The crazy part is that it's not consistent. If I resave a page without fixing the button, another button intermittently disappears! Not all the time. Freaky....

A link to your site would make it easier to tell what's going on and help you with the problem.:)
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Not sure what this describes? Are you using a template (background generated by program)? I don't get "tabbed window", either :(

You could make a new page with no links to it and put that up, then post the URL here so we could see what's going on ;)

Sorry to confuse the issue.

I am using a program generated background.

With that background I add a square box (using the shapes option).

I add a second little shape to imitate a tab on the top. (The style I'm after is trying to show pages with tabs) - Unless there's a easier way to do that.

It is on this shape that I add my text.

The text points to a link (using the buttonize function).

When I finish and save all this, the buttons disappear (sometimes).

I will put up a temporary page tonight to show you what I'm facing.

The site is www.kimbezaire.com. There's an "under construction" page there now. Yes it looks noobish but in Coffeecup's defense, it took a noob like me 2 minutes to put up.

You guys are very helpful.

One of my office's website designers told me about this product. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I'm pretty sure I'll be buying this program.

The site is temporarily up with a single page.

At the top you will see a yellow button that seems to hide behind the display. It should be in the foreground.
