HTTP Error #307 in Free CoffeeCup...

Hi all

Am just giving the free version of CoffeeCup HTML a go as I've finally made the painful decision to stop using Homesite as it's so out of date and am finding it a little bumpy to start with. For a start, it won't validate any of my pages, when I try to, it just says connecting to W3.org and then comes up with the above error., Has anyone got any idea why? I've searched for the error on these forums but can't find anything. Cheers, Darren :)

Example site I'm trying to validate : http://level3club.co.uk

Nope, am finding this utterly useless. I've found that, if I remove this first line:

<!DOCTYPE html>

..it then *doesn't* come up with the above error and actually comes up with some validation info. Why would that one line cause problems?

The W3C has changed the way the validation works. We have corrected this in the paid version but have not released a free version update yet. You will have to manually validate your pages by going directly to the W3C.

That is one reason to purchase the software! :)

Haha, fair enough! Thanks for the reply. I'm still not 100% sure if CoffeeCup is for me yet though. Homesite had so many useful bits and pieces in it that I'm not finding replicated on here so far. Is it possible to change the settings so that, if you press CTRL+I or CTRL+B, it inserts <em> and <strong> tags instead of the default <i> and <b> tags?

Keyboard shortcuts are hard-coded and cannot be adjusted.

But how do I update my previously paid for download. When I login and go to "My Purchases" I have an option to download the version I already have which DOES NOT work correctly. The HTML Editor 12.9
Windows – HTML_Editor-Full-12.9.714.exe (30 MB)

How do I download the current version CoffeeHTML15.1.exe (34.79 MB) without repaying.

I thought after purchase you were entitled to free upgrades of your product.

Thanks Mark

Do you read our weekly newsletters Mark? We have been sending you emails specifically about this for a few years now (almost 2-3 years!) ;) Looking at your account, your last and only order was in 2005, so I think you have been missing out on many, many of our newsletters.

You are on version 12. To obtain the higher versions (14 or 15) you would have to purchase the upgrade. Refer to our newsletters for your special upgrade link. If you lost them, you can open a support ticket.
