Looking for some recommendations on Hosting/storage for all form submissions. Really need the site up asap and not sure if ill be able to get round mysql/phpmyadmin etc soon enough.
With 4 forms 1 payment form is it worth considering s-drive webbie $4.95. which covers 3 forms/500 submissions. 2 webbie accounts to cover 4 forms leaving room for 2 more forms which can be used for future jobs. This will split the load of submissions. It's also the easy way out, kinda feels like cutting corners to me when i've spent so much time on this site it doesn't feel right although time is not on my side..
Interested to hear your thoughts on this please..

after some research looks like coffee cup takes care of creating a table on mysql after creating a blank database. Upload files to server..
Not sure what to do next..Will i need to write my own codes? noticed a few users experienced problems with payment invoice emails , transactions being listed when not processed and many using paypal ipn. payment form used now will take a fee using paypal which is required to submit the form.
need some pointers please on the best route to take to manage repair booking forms plus all other forms. So far i'm aware of phpmyadmin, mysql. any others missing..
also just realised sdrive can host websites. Anyone have experience using s-drive to host a few websites on a commercial level. looks like an attractive package saving me from finding a webhost etc an all in one package.
Anyone with useful experience on sdrive hosting regarding speed, uptime % & overall reliability? For $14.95 shopkeep package will allow up to 5 sites to be controlled. Could buy me some time till i get round Mysql just need to know what the advantages and dis-advantages could be. I understand their store all the info however we still have full control.. am i missing anything essential/important that major host companys have..?

S-Drive is a great option if you don't want to mess with custom php scripts and you can get all the data you need with the stock setup.
If you have a need to see the data in some other kind of format or need others to be able to see and manipulate that data with the use of custom php scripts then getting another host might be your best route.

come across a hosting company called Betterwebspace which runs PHP 5.3 or 5.4 and MySQL 5.3. affordable prices. Works out to be the same as s-drive in cost £50 per year.300mb / 5000mb / unlimited Mysql databases / mailing list.
want to use them as they look good plus feedback is good. Can't decide. Keep wondering, I'll have to learn Mysql sooner or later so why not now, just hoping it goes well i guess.
only one way to find out.. going ahead with mysql. just feels right for some reason.
will i be needing Php my admin?
any idea if the paypal payment is still causing an issue by processing forms which are not complete so will need to setup paypal ipn..

If your going to need a Paypal IPN then you can write your own myformame.php to process the data. Mysql isn't to tough. There's lots of examples if you google it. Just make sure your at least using PDO to prevent sql injection.

would shake your hand if i could. cheers for that Eric, i'll look into it. Have you used Mysqli before? know for sure if it's safer
I've only used mysqili a few times. I do all of mine in PDO now just to keep everything the same.

Dear g_jaurre,
Getting started with Web design is overwhelming for historical reasons. It all started with a simple concept (static links from one page to another) and metastasized into the horrible mish-mash of dynamic host-side and client-side stuff we see today, complicated by the "responsive design" requirement, all of it expressed in multiple inconsistent languages. So take things slowly, one step at a time.
I found CoffeeCup to be a great point of departure on this journey because they cut their teeth on getting people started in the simplest manner possible. They provide remarkably prompt, authoritative support for their products. They do not trap naive users with seductive, non-standard, lock-in products. And you can't buy the helpful people on this Forum at any price. Though CoffeeCup's support for the dynamic host-side work in which I am engaged could be improved, I keep coming back to them. I hope you will, too.

thanks for that reminder, needed to hear that. Sorry for the the late reply everyone & thanks once again for all the help and efforts. Really appreciate the support which helped me out allot.
Decided to just use the Lite version of the form and publish to S-drive. I'll leave Mysql For another job as i'll need some time to get my head round it. Time was an issue so needed to get this site up and running. For Me coffee cup offers an all in one package a no brainer if you ask me.
So will use the free version of the form for now + S-Drive to host form. Also going to host my website on s-drive for convenience sake.
once again, you guys rock.
take care
Best wishes
Gagan
