Hi all of you

I'm currently making a site by using the program COFFEECUP VISUAL SITE DESIGNER
It's allmost finished, but I would like to add a couple of google gadget to my site.
I've allready worked with blogspot, and I remember it being very easy to add such google gadgets by using the HTML codes provided by each google gadget. But in COFFEECUP it won't work. I enter the HTML code into the HTML tool, but it won't work.

Can anyone help me please!!

Which one are you trying to add?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

when you go to the main page
http://www.google.com/ig/directory?hl=nl&synd=open
there are obviously a lot of them...

I would like several
- a map gadget like this one
http://www.gmodules.com/ig/creator?synd=open&url=http%3A%2F%2Faddthisshare.com%2Fmaps2.xml&lang=nl

- a weather gadget like this one
http://www.gmodules.com/ig/creator?synd=open&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hetweer.nl%2Fgadget.xml&lang=nl

I still have to look for suitable others for my site

but still, thank you very much in advance

In VSD click on the HTML tool on the left hand panel. It looks like a black pc screen with green 1's and 0's in it. Next make a box on the page page by left clicking and dragging the mouse to about the size of the widget. Which in your case is 320 by 404. Now goto the webpage that the google gadget code is on at the bottom. Highlite the code and right click and select copy. Now go back to VSD and right click and paste this code into the HTML body window.:)

yes, that's what I did several times. When I enter the code in the "body" en then press "ok", in the screen it sais preview not available.

Could it be that it is because my site hasn't been uploaded yet?
I still have to manage my ftp setting.

I downloaded your free FTP program, my site is called bato3.com

should my data be:

nickname deleted
server deleted

my username and password should be of a "host"
do they mean the host of the site - which is me or my internet provider?

I'm sorry for all the questions, I never thought it would be this hard to bring a site online

I would like to thank you for your help though !

Please edit your reply and delete your user name and password on your post. We wouldn't wait someone with bad intentions to hack your site.:)

Click preview at the top of your VSD window to see how it will appear on your site. HTML code box's wont be visable in the VSD design window.

Dries, I have edited your post with the host details.

Username and password should have been given to you by your 'host', which is where you upload to, whether it is your internet provider or a web hotel.
Ha en riktig god dag!

ok, thank you very much. Very strange I couldn't do it myself. Just to be sure I will use other passwords and usernames.

So first of all I should get a host for my site. Would you recommend any free hosts?

Also, do I have to create a FTP for bringing my site online?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
