Can someone sum up the differences between FF and RSD? It wasn't really clear to me what the full features of FF were by reading the https://www.coffeecup.com/foundation-framer/ page. Is it a no-code site builder the same way RSD is?

Thanks,
Jeff

This app works a lot like RSD, but it is specifically targeted for people who want to make sites using Zurb’s Foundation Framework. It gives you all the power and flexibility of the Foundation 6 at your fingertips through intuitive visual controls.

People really dig this app because it is powered-up with custom breakpoints, pre-built components, and symbols for global content updates. Plus, it has built-in JavaScript plugins so you can add interactive components for navigation, slideshows, toggles, and much more without the hassle of external libraries.

Another big difference is the mobile-first workflow. This means you will start your projects for smaller screens first and work your way towards the largest screen size. Designing with this technique really helps you examine your content and focus on what is most important.

So essentially RWD uses Bootstrap and FF uses Foundation, but they are both no-code style design tools?

Will FF be added to the Responsive Design Pack at any point?

Thanks for the info and links!

Jeff

edit: is FF available on Win and Mac? Does the license work on both platforms?

Yes, with one small exception. RSD does not use Bootstrap (yet). It uses our own framework called Coffeegrinder.

We have some great things in store for RSD and more information on that will be posted as we get closer to the release of the next update.

It is available for Windows and OSX. Each license must be purchased separately. Project files are also cross platform compatible.

Thought I'd ask this here because this question seems relevant again with the release of the RSD 2 beta. My specific question is I'd like to build the new site I am about to do on Foundation, but would love to use some of the features that are in RSD 2. Can I do everything I can do in FF in RSD 2? And to try and be a little more specific will all I be able to have access to all the Foundation Attributes like I do in FF? Foundation and Bootstrap... Do you choose which you'd like to use or how does RSD2b use both frameworks?

Also, A few off topic questions...
If I purchase the Responsive Design Pack will I have access to RSD2b?
How do updates work when it comes to a new version? Does everyone who purchased RSD get free access to RSD2b and then free upgrade to the full release? If not, is there special pricing? and does this pertain to all of your software or is it on a case by case basis?

Sorry, I know kinda loaded with questions... Just got designs approved for my biggest web build yet and want to make sure everything will go as smoothly as possible in development.

Thanks!

With RSD2 you select which framework you want to use before starting on a project. If you choose Foundation, you will have access to all the components, themes and templates that you find in RFF. The same goes if you choose Bootstrap, all the bits and bobs from RBB are there. RSD2 even has some more goodies that are not built into the other two programmes, don't know if they will in future.
If you buy the Responsive Design Pack, I think it will include RSD2. If not, you will at least be able to get the upgrade for free. If you have built a site in RFF or RBB earlier, you can open them in the new RSD. Projects built in an older RSD version can also be opened in the new one.

When CC brings out a new programme, or a new version, there is always a very good campain price to begin with. Smaller updates to the progs will be free, but big ones most likely will have to be paid for.

I hope you have got some answers to your question with this.
Ha en riktig god dag!
