I am having issues with my computer. Yesterday I sat down to use it, I logged in and it turned off. I tried to turn in back on, but it would not go past the windows log in screen. I tried starting it in safe mode, but it says that windows needs to be activated before it will let me get into safe mode. When I do turn the computer on, it never goes pat the windows loading screen.

I dusted it out, made sure there was nothing obstructing the fans, or anything else. I unplugged the computer and plugged it back in, I unplugged the hard drive and plugged it back in. I unplugged both the computer and the hard drive, and let it stay that way over night, but still nothing.

I tried to do a repair, and it starts out just fine, but when it gets to the computer having to restart, it does not get past the windows log in screen.

I am wondering if anyone might know of someway I can fix my computer, or have any idea what the problem might be. I am trying to fix the computer so I can get the files off and not do a whole rewrite. My files were not backed up and I need them.

Also I have no idea if it is an issue or not, but a while ok the power button on my computer has not worked, the only way I can turn it on, is by unplugging it and plugging it back in, or not turning it off at all. It was been working that way just fun for about a year now. I am not sure it that is an issue or not.

Umm are you aware this is a software for web site builders site not a computer techie site? Granted there may be ideas here, but you'd be much better off finding a computer tech site than a web software site for getting help. Good luck on it.

Jamie, is your computer fairly new? Activation if Windows is normal within a month (I think) of the purchase. Probably if you ask in the shop where you bought it, you may get some help.
