I do have a css file. I don't know why I'm seeing it in black and white today, but it worked yesterday.
Here is an edited version of your files. All I did was removing the 'css/' from this path:
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/dq6style.css" />
This means that the html file and the css file are in the same folder. Before I removed that said bit, it meant that the css file was in a subfolder named css, which is obviously not the case.

The problem persists. On my computer, I have my style sheet in a css folder as specified in the link. And when I preview the page, none of the fonts and colors are rendered. Everything just shows up in black and white with no specified styles.
Can you provide a link to the problem page?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

This is going to just be the same issue Samantah as before. This zip file has a folder called "New folder" and your css file is in there. That is not going to work.
Please just upload it to the web as we need to see it in our browser.

Here's the link to the page on the web: http://myweb.chatham.edu/students/Saman … 6page.html
The colors show up there (I uploaded to my host space on Monday). but when I open in CoffeeCup and preview, the page is just black and white with no fonts or colors or other styles specified.
Once that assignment is graded, I can upload the file again. I don't want to overwrite the page now with the black and white file.

Okay, I'll upload it later. I don't want to post it now since it's an assignment for class and will overwrite what is there now.

I mentioned this in one of my last posts. Just upload it to a sub-folder or publish to S-Drive. This way it will not touch the existing site.

How do I publish to S-drive?

How do I publish to S-drive?
1. Create your account at www.coffeecup.com/sdrive
2. Publish your website within the Editor by going to the File Menu > Upload To Server > Sync with S-Drive
If you have Direct or Free FTP, you can also upload that way.
