We're trying to offer free shipping on one of our products. However, no matter how we configure the settings shipping charges are applied to the item on the shopping cart checkout page. We unchecked "Apply Default Shipping". No go. We then changed the weight of the product to "0". Still no go. Please help...

Thanks.

Not sure which settings you are referring to. We have it set to ship based on weight. The default weight unit is oz. Other than that I'm not sure what settings you refer to.

Thanks for the reply.

In SCCP click on "Shipping" at the top.
You should see a "Shipping Preferences" then below that several settings related to shipping.

Did you try adding a zero option?

Thanks for the reply.

If I am understanding your suggestion properly, adding a zero option would prevent shipping charges from being added to all items placed in the shopping cart not just the item we desire. It would only create even more confusion.
The screenshot below is the configuration we used to try to allow the free shipping on a single item.

Thanks again for your help. I'm not really understanding the configuration Reginald is using. Maybe it's just me but, I'm just not getting it.

I see no straight forward way of offering free shipping with out altering all of your products. Looks like it's been requested several times.
