Found this thread while looking for an answer to a problem I am having.
I want a picture to be my background. But when I choose a picture for some reason it tiles it. I don't want it tiled, just one large picture. What am I doing wrong?

Your going to need to do this. I can probably alter it to be static.;)

Eric,

OK, so...New Website, then? Choose picture option or???
I'd like exactly what you link to but without the multiple images, just one image.

Thanks for your quick reply,

Paul

The tiling is going to depend on the size of the views screen. You could add a larger image that looks fine on a 15" screen but would still be tiled on a 24". If you don't want the image to ever tile then this is the type approach you will need. Let me take a look and see what it needs to be static.;)

OK, so your first step, "make a transparent png image", this is not done in the dialog box that appears when you select "new website"? I am not sure how to do that. Is it the picture option, but the "picture" is simply a transparent picture?(I'm not sure how to do that either...I have Illustrator but no PS)

Again thanks for your help,

Paul

OK, update...I made a transparent rectangle in AI. Did "new website" choose picture added this transparent image. Then proceeded with your code and the 2 additional files. I only get "preview not avail" and when I try the Preview I get an Script error:
Line 77
Char 1
Error $ is undefined

I obviously have something wrong. :(

Paul
on edit, I changed my file name from your example "rocks" to the correct file name of the image I want.

Can't get it to work. I must have something wrong, not sure what. I'm guessing it the transparent image as I'm just guessing at it really. In illustrator I made a rectangle and assigned it no fill and no boarder, saved as a png. Is that correct?

Sorry no link to a site as I only have a domain name but no site up yet.

Thanks,

Paul

Paul,
How transparent did you make it? :D
Start with a color... A white rectangle for instance, then set the transparency to an amount that lets the background show through just enough not to interfere with your text, etc. Photoshop (or similar) is good for this.
