WOW Slider users-need advice

I have a client who wants to be able to remove/add photos to a slideshow. The site is being built in the HTML Editor – plain ol' HTML/CSS and a bit of JS/Jquery as needed.
I was looking at Perch CMS to create some editable areas for him, but not sure how this could work with a Jquery slider.
So I went looking for an easy to use slider, something he could edit by himself.
I know there are some WOW Slider users on here... Could you tell me if this might be a solution? On their site:
http://wowslider.com/image-carousel-tut … few-clicks
...there's a list of features under Slider Wizard Features, which includes 'Drag and Drop Images'. It looks like this would be ideal for a non-coding user.
Any thoughts or suggestions? :)

Hi paintbrush,

That is an excellent choice for your client. It is very easy to use and no coding required. You will need to show you're client where to put the code it generates.

Looking at their demos, in seems to have a built-in upload feature. I could create the slider, add it to the page and do the first upload. Then the client could use the WOW dashboard to change photos and upload from there.
Their demos make it look very easy :D

I would highly suggest that you test each of the different upload functions so you get to know how it works yourself so that you can fix it when they screw it all up LOL. Seriously though, if they choose the wrong one they will end up screwing up the page completely because the program doesn't really put the code in the correct location fully when you choose to add it to the page through the program.

Best to check each of the options out and see which one is best for them. I agree it 'should' be something they can use, but it will definitely depend on their level of intelligence as well as how well they follow instructions. Then again, a few charges to them for having to fix it should help them learn it correctly so they don't have to keep paying you to fix it too! hahahaha.

I'll be the one trying to figure out how to get it positioned and working on the website :P
After that, I would hope that it works like the Jalbum dashboard. You never have to touch the webpage or its code to edit their albums, and the upload is simple (like CC), just enter and save the FTP info – the client only has to hit save and publish.
But I'll keep a back-up copy of the page...just in case!
I guess it would be OK to try it out with the free version before it goes public.

Yeah I would try it if I were you as it doesn't have a no fault type of upload setup. It doesn't have a fool proof way of inserting the code and uploading it. You can "either":

Publish the files to a folder on your computer to then upload them yourself
or
Insert the code via the program into a page you tell it to insert it to, but you do have to choose the location (you could code a comment in there and tell them to select that comment to insert the code to), but you have to upload the files yourself with this choice.
or
You can choose to Publish it to a folder on your server, but you'd still have to put the code into the appropriate page unless you use the page it spits out for you which would be a generic white website with a gallery on it.

So you would still have to teach them how to insert the code "and" how to upload it, or one or the other to get it so they can do it. Hope that helps some. :)

I was going to do the initial upload/install. I had hoped there was a way for the client to be able to edit the slider photos without having to delete the existing slider then create/upload a new slider just to switch a photo every few weeks or so.

I guess I'll have to find something else. :( Too bad, it would be perfect if it were editable.

How do you want to place images or remove images from the host?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

When you do any updates, it creates a brand new gallery each time, it's not really an "update" which is why it's a bit more of a hassle for clients to do the updating of it.

The other part that will be hard is that the path to the gallery has to be exactly the same for them as it is on your computer, directory for directory, or the saved file will not show the photos either. This file that saves all those paths can be adjusted though, so you can work with the client to get the exact location it will reside on their computer and alter that file for them before giving them the stuff (and then tell them never move any of the gallery information files). It's not hard to edit, just a pain to make sure the paths are correctly setup on their end or in the file.

It truly would be a whole lot easier for you to charge a few bucks and do an update for em. :P
