Why Such a Dramatic Difference...

Hi Everyone,

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I'm working on cleaning up code and errors on my Classifieds but I'm stumped again.

If anyone could please take a look at this page: http://classifieds.your-adrenaline-fix.com/login.php

I'd like to ask if anyone has a clue as to why it displays well in Chrome and Firefox but when viewed in IE it looks a total mess.

I've had other pages that have looked similar and I've sorted through them but this one is being a real turd as there seems to be nowhere to be able to correct the issue as both the left and right columns are in include files where their width is specified.

If anyone could so kindly comment on this I'd be most appreciative and I do look forward to your ideas.

I thank you in advance.

I looked at the page in IE9, Ffx and Safari (latest versions), but hadn't time to check the code. But as to mess, what I'm showing in the attachment was consistent through all three browsers, the screen shot taken in Safari. I viewed it on a laptop PC with 1278x677 px viewport.

Hi Inger,

I can't tell much from the screenshot you sent as it's just a small sample of the page but I can say that in that example / screenshot my LH Navigation looks ok (Im not concerned with the way the center column extends into the side columns, That's easy to fix) What I am most concerned with is why my LH Nav and RH Column extend into the center column on pages such ass /login.php and add_help.php (to only name a couple)

I'll be continually trying different things to get this resolved but if anyone actually knows what to look for or what could cause this I'd be most appreciative if they could share it with me.

BTW, I did have many many pages doing crazy things like this but I've since corrected them but I don't know what gives on these pages. I am at a TOTAL loss and now anything I do is aimlessly guessing.

I thank you all again and I do look forward to further replies

Thanks so much everyone,

Looks pretty close to the same to me in all three browsers and the login form part is overlapping the left sidebar on all 3 of them. The footer is a bit differently ended on each of them also.

The small screenshot I posted earlier was of the only thing I might have defined as 'mess'. Having checked again with the same browsers on the same laptop, I notice a slight difference in line-heighths, margins and paddings, but not enough that I would call it a 'mess'. Maybe ytou could post a screenshot of what you are seeing, so that we know what to look for. I haven't got time these days to go through all the code looking for something that might, or might not, be out of wack.

Besides, what Website builder are you using? We're always happy to help with problems created with one of the CC programmes, but I can't see any trace of a CC web builder in your code. It looks like you are using some CMS system, and if I'm right, I think it would be better if you contacted the user forum of that CMS, You're likely to get more qualified help there.

Hi Inger,

Wow!! I have to say that when referring to your 2nd paragraph i'd say that you get the award for the unfriendliest post.

For the record: I AM using CC and can provide a screen shot of that as well if you'd like but lets suffice it to say that I have morales and wouldn't be trying to leech onto this forum had I not purchased CC

Oh... And No, I'm NOT using any CMS.

BTW, What would a CC built page look like?? Do you expect to see "Built with CoffeeCup" for my H1's??

Anyways, Back to the issue at hand:

I have included a screenshot of what I am seeing on some of the pages in IE but please remember that SOME PAGES of this site DO display properly even in IE

I've been working on this all week and would really like to get it resolved so I'm upping the ante...

If anyone can show me what's wrong with this and get me ironed out, I'll call your local pizza place and buy you a pizza for you to pickup (You'll have to provide me the phone # of the pizza joint though)

Now... How's that for paying it forward??

I do look forward to further replies regarding this and I thank you all very much.
